1. the woman who is introducing them, WHAT A MESS!
such a mess as to not appear credible at all...can't even keep herself up, let alone represent anyone else...imho, of course.

3. Loved the way the Big Dog handled the heckler. Didn't get
flustered, didn't get mad, waited patiently and then agreed with the heckler. Couldn't make out what he was yelling but Clinton handled it perfectly.

If that was someone in Chucklenuts' private viewings that heckler would now be on route to Gitmo.

What a difference five and half years make.

9. That is the way to handle them.
Especially when they are actually on your side. Nurses.

19. I think it was something like "Fight AIDS, Fund Health Care Workers Now"
Edited on Mon Aug-14-06 04:11 PM by Lisa
A message which was likely directed at the Ontario and Canadian governments, in particular (ahem, are you listening, Stephen Harper? Harper? Where is ...?) Kudos to Clinton for incorporating it into his remarks.

"The opening of the session was disrupted briefly as chanting protesters hoisted signs reading: Fight AIDS, Fund Health Care Workers Now.

Clinton placated the activists, saying "I agree with that - we do need a lot more nurses.""

5. So we are back to judging people by appearance? That is so
Republican 1950ish (or hell, Repug 2006ish). How about we all grow up and see if the lady actually does a good job instead of slamming her on her dress, look, etc. Surely we have evolved...

IMHO, of course.

16. wasn't talking about her dress-the knotted hair in her face was my
main gripe...For God's sake...she was talking to the Big Dawg and Gates about a tragedy in Africa and AIDS in general...She has responsibility to at least appear credible; disheveled moderator just seems a bit under the stature of Gates and Pres. Clinton, imho...

10. Hmmm, gosh, I was interested in the subject matter, AIDS, not
in critiquing the moderator, silly me.

11. Sorry if I misunderstood your comment - but you said nothing
about her ability as a moderator, just left the impression you were upset with her inability to pull herself together for credibility sake. Pull herself together? Sounds like you thought her outfit didn't match and her hair needed combing. So-r-r-r-r-r-r-ry.

15. I think you meant this post for the poster who was commenting on
the commentator and not me. I hope so, anyway, as my post was, in essence, pointing out the issue of the conference is what is important not the moderator and the superficialities about her.

18. Read it and thanks for clarifying
I have to say I did not notice any dishevelment on the part of the moderator and, to be honest, had I done so, I would have been impressed that she worried less about superficialities because of her concern about the conference subject matter, AIDS.

12. You know what's great about this forum that's missing in what * does?
These guys have solutions and reasons for those solutions being proposed. They've done the homework and gone to see problems areas personally. * just gives the same old platitudes and tells people what they "should" do and what is "attitude" is. He's very judgmental in a very negative and restrictive way. Gates and Clinton present hope and a sense that something can be accomplished.

14. question here--why is clinton referred to as "the big dog"? I hadn't
noticed this until recently, and just wonder if it is a sort of "alpha male" reference.
