What needs to happen when Democrats take over in November
Here is a list of priorities I think they should have once they gain both house and senate majorities. Feel free to rearrange, add, to it. #1 is the top priority.

1) Impeach.
2) Election reform. No more electronic machines. Required paper trails.
3) Gradual pullout of Iraq.
4) Break up big media and force competition.
5) Start restoring diplomatic relations with everybody, including Iran.
6) Abolish the patriot act. End phone tapping. Start investigations all all other GOP criminals.
7) Universal health care.
8) Cut military spending and put it into Education, raise taxes on the rich.

2. Hmm, out of those, I'd say...
I'll just leave your numbers on my list, but it goes in importance from top to bottom in mine:

1) Impeach.
2) Election reform. No more electronic machines. Required paper trails.
6) Abolish the patriot act. End phone tapping. Start investigations all all other GOP criminals.
4) Break up big media and force competition.
5) Start restoring diplomatic relations with everybody, including Iran.
3) Gradual pullout of Iraq.
7) Universal health care.
8) Cut military spending and put it into Education, raise taxes on the rich.

I kind of lumped the first four together, because if you get all that mess fixed, the other stuff will fall in line. The first priority should be holding this administration accountable for what it's done, and making sure that it cannot happen again. Abolishing unfair voting practices and ensuring the media is not biased and afraid to report the truth will go a long way to fixing that.

Granted, most -- if not all -- of these things could be done at the same time, but that's my personal priority. You HAVE to stop the sorts of things that led us into the Iraq war, ie the questionable voting, the chickenshit media (and in the case of FOX, blatently complicit media), etc.
