Question: Is the media covering up damage to Israel?
A friend says that someone who just came back from Israel is saying that there is a LOT of damage in Israel - a lot of people have had to flee and it's not being covered - only the damage in Lebanon (perhaps because they don't want it to look like Israel might be doing anything other than "winning"). I've been on a self-imposed media ban for the last two weeks and haven't been listening to CNN, etc.

Any comments?

1. Not anymore then the US. is covering up what's really going on in Iraq -
three years ago the Pentagon claimed approximately 37,000 iraqi civilians were killed and today only 45,000 seems to be a popular number but when you read that 6,000 were killed in May-June alone it only makes the claimed numbers more absurd.

2 years ago the Iraqi press claimed more then 100,000 Iraqi's have been killed since the invasion.

2. Makes sense
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to tally up the number of strikes to Israel versus the number of stories reported. Daily we heard, "140 today, 190 on this day, over 200 on that day". Then all we saw was smoke and devastation in Lebanon. Once in a while we saw mass damage in Israel but nothing on the scale of the damage to Lebanon. I realize that Israel has tons of weaponry that Lebanon does not. Considering that, I suspect that Israel and their enabler (U.S.) are quite embarrassed and are anxiously trying to figure out a way to fire up the war machine again...

3. I wouldn't be surprised..
if true. I still believe Israel is doing more harm, but I think they are keeping their own casualties down. Just as the phoney "Mission Accomplished" was declared 3 years ago. Lies...lies and more lies.

5. No. Israeli censors much of the reports coming out of Israel so
reporters are limited in what they can report. And many of those rockets hit nothing but dirt.

7. 2 ways to look at it
1. Hide the damage to try to show how weak Hezbollah is.

2. Show the damage to gain sympathy of the world about how Hezbollah is a threat that should be eliminated.
