In a remake: The Madness of King George. Who would you cast?
As movies go, it was ok. But, I, for one, would be excited at seeing a more modern remake with the obvious person as the subject of the movie.

OK, so who would play Kathy Harris? I vote for Ann Coulter. They both have protection from 15 MPH frontal collisions, both are competely non-sensical and both raise non-existant hair on people's backs.

Who would play King George? Tom Hanks. He already proved his worth and talent for this role in Forest Gump.

Who would play Condi Rice? Roseanne Barr gets my vote. If not, a breathless, confused and not very bright Jodi Foster might work. She has played those rolls before.

Dick Cheney? Anthony Hopkins has so much talent, and his ability to portray Dr. Hannibal Lector makes him the hands down choice.

Paul Wolfowitz?
John Ashcroft?
Alberto Gonzales?
Laura Bush?
Colin Powell (Who was that guy in Mars Attacks, anyway?)
Let's hear your suggestions, folks.

2. I think it was Paul Winfield in "Mars Attacks" playing the Powell type
I love playing the "let's remake" game but this one is hard. I can see Bill Maher playing the lead -- as modern-day Chimperor and/or in flashbacks to his "young and irresponsible" days. Pam Grier could play Condi but not as her "Stepford" persona -- as the "thought bubble" incarnation (what's she REALLY thinking?).

7. Unfortunately Winfield died in 2004

But I agree, he would have channelled Powell perfectly.

Winfield was one of those character actors who kind of morphed into his roles. I think my favorite was the chain smoking top cop in the first Terminator movie. He handled that small role flawlessly.

He died of a heart attack on March 7, 2004

3. Randy Quaid for John Ashcroft.
Your right on with the Mars Attacks general being a dead-ringer for Colin Powell.
(Watching that movie is a great stress-reliever).

8. Here are my suggestions.
Chimp? Many might be good. Hanks is okay, but I'd try to get an unsung character actor to do Dubya. Find somebody who can really channel his broken speech patterns and deer in the headlights gaze.

Laura? Easy. Melanie Griffth. She wouldn't even have to act to reproduce Laura's soft spoken Stepford Wife personna.

Cheney? You nailed it. Hopkins is the only guy for this role. Pay any amount of money to get him to do the role.

Harris? If she was younger, I'd say Shirley MacLaine could really nail this role. Find a younger duplicate of MacLaine and you've nailed this casting.

Condi? Need a good actor. Alfre Woodard.

Powell? Winfield's gone. Find a good black character actor and give him a shot at a best supporting actor nomination.

Ashcroft? How about John Malkovich?

Wolfowitz? Hands down David Keith role.

Gonzo? This one's easy. Martin Sheen.

9. I would cast unknown actors
They need the work MUCH more than the rich and famous, and would likely do a better job.

11. For Pickles,
Marcia Cross. I LOVE Marcia Cross, but she's already got that Stepford smile down pat. All she'd have to do is tilt her head and cross her eyes a little and bam! Pickles Bush.
