My LTTE regarding Kathleen Parker's column that enraged me.
Be kind. I already sent it in.

Her Op/Ed:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/columnists/orl-parker1306aug13,0,638401.column

My letter:
So, according to Ms. Parker, CT voters are 'out of touch' because they chose the candidate they preferred? Well, I have to agree with her. In Bushco's America, not walking in lockstep with the administration earns you the moniker the 'Al-Qaeda candidate', on none other than that stalwart of news professionalism, Fox.

The people of CT chose Lamont because Lieberman insisted on remaining in bed with Bush and his administration. Many democrats were fooled into voting for the IWR because of the lies of this mis-administration, and many have since distanced themselves to avoid being smeared with the blood of innocent lives. Lieberman didn't. He chose to remain close to the administration that has yet to tell the American people the truth about anything and cost thousands of American lives for a lie.

I am also laughing at Ms. Parker's painting Michael Moore in such a poor light. Maybe some think he is extreme, but he is no more so than the Oxycontin popping, Viagra smuggling family values promoting thrice married Rush Limbaugh, nor the screeching banshee Ann, 'those 9/11 widows have a lotta nerve to have an opinion' Coulter. Michael Moore is against the war, like the majority of Americans, a fact Ms. Parker seems to forget and dismiss in her hurry to paint those who exercised their right to vote their conscience as extremists.

May all those 'extremists' who wish to see an end to this unjust war win in 2008. Then perhaps we will see who the real 'pro-life' party is.

4. Smart. Criticize the voters. Real smart.
:sarcasm:

What a pathetic jab. Blame the voters who had the gall to not vote for Lieberman. Parker's jab at CT voters looks so pathetic and weak, I'm embarrassed for her. She's a hag.

5. She sucks. I despise her.
I actually had to tone down the letter from calling her an Ann Coulter wannabe.

17. She's also a goofball with questionable taste in men.
She once horn-dogged creepy, dried-up gutter-pickle Donald Rumsfeld in a column.

8. Great letter!
I read that in the local fishwrap today (we only subscribe to this local paper because it tends to publish letters-to-the-editor that my local progressive friends write).

My husband laughed (in a perverse sort of way) - at what passes for a column, or commentary, these days.

9. Her shit actually makes me laugh
You really can't take seriously any dumbass who uses the term "Stalinist" with a straight, white, plastic face. And the moldy talking point that the Democratic party is dead, dying, far-left, extremist, radical, fringe, etc. is just so much rhetorical diarrhea.

Vapid soccer mom Parker got hit on the head too many times by too many stray soccer balls on the sidelines. She would be too boring to get enraged over if she weren't so damn hilarious. Comparing Michael Moore as the ideological opposite of Pat Robertson? That's comic gold!

14. Nicely done- that's some fine LTTE-ing right there.
Very fact-based, nice easy-to-follow logical progressions,
a few "big" words but never quite "too big"....

Third paragraph is my fave:
you start out abit strident with the
Limbaugh and Coulter descriptions, the reader gets the
feeling that you MIGHT be heading for a ranting flameout...
And then you pull a quick 180 back to the unadorned FACTS
with the "majority of Americans" line.
Mental Judo- SWEET!

15. A point:
It wasn't even a Fox News idiot who called Lamont the "al-Quaida candidate"--it was Chuch Roberts, a CNN anchor!

19. Excellent letter!
:applause:

And what is this woman smoking? She is obviously out of touch herself:

But what happened in Connecticut allowed the rest of the country a close glimpse of what the Democratic Party has become -- a ruthless machine of the far left

Right. And what is the Republican Party but a ruthless machine of the far right?

What else can one call the message now being telegraphed to Democratic leaders? You either stand with us against the war in Iraq, or we take you down.

Ha! What has this entire nation been enduring for the past six years? "You either stand with us and the war in Iraq or we harass you and quite possibly take legal action against you."

Aye.
