Pat Buchanan just hit the nail on the head re: US attacking Iran.... |
|
Bush does NOT have the authority to attack Iran.
It's an act of war.
That's for an act from Congress.

|
The guy makes sense on foreign affairs, plain and simple.
I'm no CONservative, but I agree with most things Pat Buchanan argues.
I watched the interview BTW, it was strong, even Tweety admitted that our congress critters are afraid of standing up to *.

18. Pat Buchanon has not morphed into a Bush Repuke like so many average |
|
voters. The guy is saying the same thing he always has. America is #1. Keep out of other countries' business. Favor Americans (white ones) in every situation. Screw foreign aid...
He says some things that are not politically correct but might not be factually inaccurate. I don't agree that the facts don't deserve a deeper look, but I don't think he's the liar that most of the Bozos in power are today. He hasn't changed his view of Republicanism either, which, in a relative sense, is now closer to our politics than the facism that is in the WH today.
And yeah, he used to be the Right Winger Nutball.
Does that mean I'm a fan? No. But I do judge him point for point and like him better than Bushco.

|
the authority to do it on his own anyway? I believe THAT TOO!
I don't know what to think about all the different talking heads talking aobut how they believe Srub is intent on attacking Iran. I bet I've heard 10 people say that in the last week! Buchanan just said "Look at his eyes. He's going to do it before he leaves office!" Sy Hersch said something similar earlier in the show, and said he believed it would be shortly after Nov elections. Can we all make enought noise about this to actually STOP him fro doing that?????

His prediction goes on for a few pages, but in part states, "If we continue on this course of reflexive interventions, enemies will one day answer our power with the last weapon of the weak -- terror, and eventually cataclysmic terrorism on U.S. soil." He predicted that followers of Usama bin Laden would use weak port security to bring a crude WMD into a city such as Seattle. The details are, of course, distinct from what happened in NYC, PA, and DC. But he was on target with the prediction that US "interventions" in the Middle East would result in the US being targeted.
Again, while Buchanan's social policies are plainly wrong, and one need not like him as an individual, his books are interesting reads.
