Illinois to offer healthcare to veterans who don't qualify for VA |
|
After a long fight with Replugs in Il.
Veterans Care Pre-Registration Under Way
New State Health Insurance Program Aimed at Helping Veterans
Its offical launch date is Sept.1st
But veterans can begin pre-registering for program starting today.
Those who take part in the pilot program will be charged a $40 per month premium.
While those who can still be taken care of at the VA any veteran making under $24.000 will still get care free. This program helps all veterans with health care.
Today it was heralded as a great program. I agree
Democrats in Il. accused the federal government of not doing enough to help veterans says Illinois has to step up to help them instead.
This shows how to win veterans support in 2006. It was hard but we did it!!

1. Isn't it just fucking disgusting that states have to pick up the VA tab |

after the federal republicans gutted the VA while at the same time taking every chance for a photo op with a "beloved" veteran that they could find.
My plan - because I am a Democrat who DOES love our veterans - is this: any military person who served in combat gets free medical care for life, to whatever level is needed, even expensive new untested treatments, whether related to combat injuries or not; and their spouse and children get something like BlueCross for life, even after the veteran dies, unless the person has healthcare coverage from another place.

3. Great news! My district rep. voted against vets benefits... |
|
Mark Kirk, IL-10 rubber stamp republican, voted against the federal bill to provide health benefits for veterans. And Kirk is a Navy vet. Can't wait to vote him out of office. http://www.house.gov/hasc/pdfs/1815Finalofficialversion.pdf

5. Which district are you in? |

That's the second time in a day I've heard her name. Dale Peters over at Daily Kos mentioned her too. Who is she? What does she do? Does she work for the Dan Seals campaign?

9. So I hope you're serious about Kirk... |
|
Are you planning anything over here to inform the masses who have no idea what he has done? Especially in Highwood (near Ft. Sheridan) & North Chicago (near Great Lakes Naval Station)...

word, EVERYONE is covered by a national health program. But I guess when you live in "The World's Only Superpower," you have to settle for what you can get.
