Dear Darrell Issa..
I'm watching you on c-span right now and you've got my blood boiling. What you've just said, if I heard you correctly, is that you think it's a good idea for the US taxpayers to re-build Lebanon. REALLY?
You know what I thought was a good idea. NOT BOMBING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! How DARE YOU, ask for money from US after you cheered Israel on, while she was bombing Lebanon back to the stone ages. You said NOTHING about the bridges, the airport, the housing at the time. You said NOTHING about the oil spill at the time. Why do you care now? Do you have some CONTRACTORS in your family?
You also said, you didn't think Israel should pay for ANYTHING! I'm sure your constituents will be overjoyed to hear that. I can hear them screaming now. "Good ole Darrell wants to let the bombers off the hook and stick it to us".
Well since you want to win the hearts and minds of the Lebanese, why don't you promise to NEVER step foot in Lebanon again. They'll be overjoyed I'm sure.
The American people shouldn't have to re-build Lebanon or any other country that gets destroyed by American made bombs. WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!
If you want MONEY Darrell, why don't you ask YOUR constituents to allow you to raise their PROPERTY TAXES to pay for it. You know that California has some of the lowest property taxes in the country. Good ole Howard Jarvis and proposition 13. Remember that? Low taxes on some of the most valuable real estate in the world? It's a GREAT IDEA and they can AFFORD it too. Go ask them Darrell. I dare you!
Just don't ask US and if you don't know why ask LOU DOBBS! You see, he's been reporting a story about TWO SETS OF BOOKS and a total debt, counting obligations, of 49 TRILLION DOLLARS!
That is called being BROKE! So if you want some money you can raise you OWN district's property taxes and if that doesn't work, you can SELL YOUR CORRUPT ASS ON PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY! You're cute Darrell honey. I'm sure you can get a couple of billion in no time flat. So get your BITCH ASS out there Darrell. Because you're are NOT getting anything from anywhere else.

Joanne 98

PS: YOU GO GIRL!

Darrell Issa and his brother are car thieves....

Issa was charged in San Jose car theft
Lance Williams and Carla Marinucci, Chronicle staff writers

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2003/06/25/ISSA.TMP

Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, the driving force behind the effort to recall Gov. Gray Davis, was prosecuted with his brother in San Jose in 1980 for allegedly faking the theft of Issa's Mercedes Benz sedan and selling it to a car dealer for $16,000, according to court records.

Issa, in a phone interview with The Chronicle Tuesday, blamed his brother for the car theft, which was detailed in documents on file in Santa Clara County Superior Court and which has never been made public.

"I do not steal," Issa said.

The second-term San Diego area congressman has pumped $1 million into the campaign to recall Davis and has declared he will run for governor should the recall qualify for the ballot this year. Issa's previous political campaigns have been roiled by allegations that twice -- once while a student in his hometown of Cleveland and once while a soldier in Pennsylvania -- he also was involved in car thefts.

In the San Jose case, Issa, who at the time was a 27-year-old U.S. Army officer, and William Issa, 29, were arrested by San Jose police on a felony auto-theft charge in February 1980.

They were accused of a scheme in which Issa's brother allegedly sold Issa's cherry-red Mercedes 240 to Smythe European Motors in San Jose for $13,000 cash and three $1,000 traveler's checks. Within hours, Issa reported the car stolen from a lot at the Monterey airport, near his Army post at Fort Ord.

Issa and his brother pleaded not guilty. A judge ordered them to stand trial on felony charges, saying he had a "strong suspicion" that the men had committed the crime, according to the records.

9. The United States does owe reparations to the people of Lebanon. We can
just not send any funds to Israel anymore, we could probably save money in that deal. Not likely any politician would support that idea.
Yet.

11. I know!
How 'bout we cut what we give to Israel a year and spend it on rebuilding Lebanon!

Somehow, I'm betting that idea wouldn't even make it out of our congressional committees.

16. Joanne, every congressman, with very few exceptions, is on record
as supporting Israel's actions. The Senate voted on a resolution by unanimous consent.
And name ONE, even one, that opposes sending military aid to Israel. Just one. I would like to see one speech from the House saying US military aid to Israel must stop.

I don't like this fact. But these are the facts, the US is behind the barbarity of the Israeli military.

He knows how to play all the angles.

I don't understand how Prop. 13 figures into the discussion since he's not a state politician, but I'd be happy to see him spend his own money rebuilding Lebanon rather than funding any more gubernatorial recall efforts.

14. His district has Oceanside and Vista. This is high value real estate.
I was just pointing out that his constituents can afford a raise in their property taxes thanx to prop. 13. You can't say that about a lot of states. CA is an exception. I didn't know he was a car thief but it figures. He's also the reason CA got blessed with the corrupt Arnold. Thanx Darrell.

27. Issa is not a local politician, and can't effect a Prop. 13 change.
That was my point. You want to tell Schwarzenegger to get rid of Prop. 13, that's within his purview.
I know of no state where the property tax rates can be raised by a member of Congress.

His constituents can afford to pay the Federal estate tax under current law; maybe Issa should work to keep that in place to pay for his pet projects.

21. He is the only one who said Israel was over the line, seriously.
Why is it that two REPUBLICANS were the only ones in CONGRESS who actually had enough spine to stand up for Lebanon? I think it is a fucking disgrace when assholes like these are the only ones who are willing to say the right thing. Where were our people in Congress? They didn't give a shit, because most of them lack a spine, and they don't want to look weak on national security. This is why the Patriot was passed in the first place, not Republicans (who we expect to be complete dicks) but DEMOCRATS! When Congressional Democrats act like this, it reminds me that our party isn't good because of our Washington Weasels, but because of you and I and all other Democrats who make up the base of our party.
