Did Cisneros get sentenced to do any time? I thought he was just fined but some wingnut is claiming that his sentence was commuted by Clinton.
Does anyone have the lowdown with link on this?

6. They got rid of a dangerous Democrat--quite a bargain for Bush & Co! |

Henry Cisneros was the popular mayor of San Antonio. He was also a graduate of Texas A&M--back when the Aggies were not known for diversity. Smart & charismatic, he was expected to go far--Governor of Texas? Perhaps even higher?
Cisneros never hid the fact that he'd had a mistress. He told the world he was in love. But his wife had another baby--a son with serious heart defects. So he broke off the affair. He did lie when he told the FBI how much he paid the ex-mistress. (All across Texas, women complained "He would not have had to pay me!")
His political aspirations have ended--which was the whole point of the long, drawn-out exercise.
But some idiots still consider him dangerous; don't click if you've got a weak stomach:

Cisneros was fined $10,000 but did not receive jail time or probation. He was one of the "controversial" Clinton pardons. Of course, people conveniently forget Bush I's pardons--some of which were designed to save his own skin. And I'm sure Bush II will pardon a bunch of pals--if he lasts that long.
