Republican Lobbyist Jack Abramoff's father is upset with George Clooney
http://www.thedesertsun.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060119/BREAKING/60119003

An open letter to actor George Clooney from Frank Abramoff, Rancho Mirage father of controversial lobbyist Jack Abramoff:

Oh how far Hollywood has fallen. When you rose to accept the Golden Globes best actor award earlier this week, you decided to take a gratuitous slap at my son, my family and even my dear departed father. Is this the tradition of Gable, Bogart, Pacino and Burton? Are you the heir to the dignity and greatness of Hollywood’s past, or more likely a portent to a depressing and horrific future?

Your glib and ridiculous attack on my son, Jack, coupled with your obscene query as to the choice his mother and I made in naming him brought shame and dishonor on you and your profession. What drove you to this lapse in lucidity, I can never know, but you need to know that your words were deeply hurtful to many innocent and decent people — who love my son and who cherish our family.

We have had to endure two years of unmitigated, outrageous falsehood directed at my son and his record of achievement on behalf of his clients and friends. The blood thirsty media, guilty of untold character assassinations during contemporary times, have even outdone themselves in their lust to create a cartoon which does not come close to resembling this fine man, my son.

Jack's father claim they were watching and one of Jack's daughters started crying. I wonder if that's true?

NO! Jack...off's actions made her cry.

This is really rich, isn't it? Blame Clooney for his son having become an infamous criminal. And for the fact that he named his kid "Jack" with a last name ending in "off". Cute.

47. Abramoff was in Hollywood also, before he became a Repub
lobbyist!! And he wasn't very sympathetic to the victims of Apartheid in S. Africa when he made hs 'b' movie there, and the parents of sweet children, victims of a vicious system, protested his apparent support for their tormentors. Since then, they have prevailed, but it's interesting to read Jack's take on those victims.

And can someone send him his son's emails, and ask him how it was that his son, while robbing the Indian Tribe in Texas of their livlihood, shutting down their 'sweet' children's schools, libraries, their dads' jobs, he pretended to be on their side, and laughed at them behind their backs, calling them 'monkeys' and 'troglydites' amongst other things. At least that's what is in his own writing.

This statement from the father answers a lot of questions about how a man could be such a criminal, could so coldly destroy, in a pre-meditated way, those he apparently believed were inferior to him.

His father appears to have some serious issues. 'Anything my boy does, is RIGHT and JUST! He need not be answerable to anyone, unlike the rest of the world.' No wonder he had the sheer arrogance he displayed, with no sense at all of the wrong he was doing.

I'd like to ask his father about Jack's SWEATSHOPS in the Mariana Islands. How many tears does he think those 'sweet' children have shed as a result of the abuse they've suffered at the hands of Jacks's 'clients'.

Little girls, who Rep. Miller (democrat of course) tried to protect with legislation, but was foiled by Jack and his 'clients' every time.

They are devoid of any moral code. They cannot see the suffering of others. Even if he spends ten years in jail, Jack Abramoff will never suffer the way his victims have.

And let's not forget his partner, Kidan's involvement in the murder of their former business associate. Did Jack know about that? It didn't cause him to think twice about profiting from the deal. No second thoughts at all, about owning a business that someone may have killed for!!

We don't yet know the half of the damage done by Jack Abramoff yet, but what we do know, tells us that he's a lucky man if he only spends 10 years behind bars. The rest of us, for just one of his many crimes, would not be so lucky.

Having said all that, I do not subscribe to 'jeering' once someone has been brought to justice. There are usually family who had nothing to do with the crimes, and who still love the perpetrator. Their situation is pretty untenable in many ways. I see no purpose in further hurting them. Just be glad the criminals have been stopped, imo. There is nothing at all funny about Jack Abramoff or his band of Republican criminals.

who is a self-avowed crimninal. My heart just bleeds for you sir. Maybe if you hadn't done such a poor job raising him, he might have grown up with a sense of honor, a sense of compassion and some integrity.

And if Jack's daughter started crying it isn't because of Clooney's comments it is because of the criminal behavior that turned her father into someone who will be the butt of many many more jokes. Poor girl has to go through the rest of her life being ashamed of the actions of her father.

Causes a distraction and works on the people who are confusing news and entertainment. Wouldn't be surprised if this letter is part of a deliberate strategy. The really sad part is that something so fake actually is believable to some people.

This reminds of that "Million Little Pieces" author scandal. That guy's parents sat in Oprah's audience, knowing his book was a bunch of lies. I can't believe how so many people just care nothing for truth.

20. Let me tell you something, Mr. Abramoff
If George Clooney had truly taken a genuine, accept-no-substitutes, gratuitous brand slap at your son, you wouldn't have the breath it takes to protest. I'm done playing nice, and I'm through with courtesy. Your son, Mr. Abramoff, is a criminal, a felon. He subverted and corrupted the American system for his own personal gain. I don't know where he learned to disregard the difference between right and wrong, but study after study shows that amoral sociopaths often get their start early in life.

Instead of whining about George Clooney being mean to your criminal son, Mr. Abramoff, why don't you spend a little time examining your own deficiencies in raising your son, the convict? What are you going to do to atone for your lapses and failures that have caused so much damage to the public trust?

46. Open letter right back

An open letter to Frank Abramoff, Rancho Mirage father of controversial lobbyist Jack Abramoff:

Oh how far Washington has fallen. When you rose to accept the challenges of defending your son's guilty plea, you decided to turn a blind eye the actions of your son that disgraced your family and even your dear departed father. Is this the tradition of Washington, Eisenhower, Roosevelt and Kennedy? Are you the heir to the dignity and greatness of Washington’s past, or more likely a relative of a catalyst to a depressing and horrific future?

Your glib and ridiculous attack on George Clooney, coupled with your misguided attempt to defend Jack's illegal and corrupt actions have brought shame and dishonor on you and your family. What drove you to this lapse in lucidity, I can never know, but you need to know that your son's actions were deeply hurtful to many innocent and decent people — who love their country and who cherish their families.

We have had to endure four years of unmitigated, outrageous falsehood directed at every citizen, both native and otherwise, of this country due to Jack's record of corruption on behalf of his clients and friends. The narcoleptic media, guilty of untold sins of omission during contemporary times, have even outdone themselves in their lack of drive to create a cartoon which could adequately come close to resembling this man, your son.

The fact that you would spend those few moments accorded to you, as an honor for your work as an parent, bashing George Clooney's name and his family, is astonishing. How do you sleep at night, other than, perhaps with the drink that you most obviously need in the face of the truth.. Funny, it was very hard for us little people in discarded rule of law land to tell whether you had indulged in the bottle or not.

My country was also fought for by my beloved departed father. His name, too, was shamed by your son's behavior. And, were he alive today, would be standing firmly behind me, as his entire family and many more true friends than you will ever know, in seeing to it that justice is done where your son and his associates are concerned.

Not that it matters to you, I am sure, but the worst part of your son's rampage on our country is played out in the futures of many young people, including my sweet 13-year-old daughter, one of my two children. I should not waste my time reading the garbage spewing from your head, but my daughter's future depends on me doing just that. Your son's assault on our country drove her to a fit of tears. Are you proud of that?

For many generations, many families have worked hard to serve this country we love. They have enlisted as young men to serve our nation in many defenses to assaults on the laws and the tranquility of our society. My father and brothers did the same, and they have all served their country in an honorable way. Your son dedicated his life to scamming and denigrating causes, which have made this nation suffer. He gave unsparingly of his time and resources to help those in need of a bribe or a payoff, in return for favors and considerations for himself and his associates.

You spend your days attempting to justify your son's assaults on our nation and our traditions. You mock those who serve our nation and its flag honestly and honorable. I revile your son and his actions and privately try to educate others about him and his criminal behaviors in front of any audience I can gather. I have news for you Frank Abramoff — one day the truth about your son will come out and there will be a lot of people in your family and others lined up to demand that he apologize for his efforts to destroy our country and our trust in our government. You won’t be in that line, though, be cause the plague of arrogance and falsehood will surely continue to blind your eyes and cause your tongue to disgrace the country who brought you your freedom and your security.

One wonders how your grandchildren would respond, were the roles reversed. One wonders whether your children would delight in someone engaging in behaviors that corrupted our government for his own gain and besmirching your country's reputation around the world. You have brought yourself to a low unparalleled except perhaps by the parents of any other traitor to our society and our values. Shame on you. If anyone needs to apologize to your granddaughter, it's your son, not George Clooney.
----

Bite me Frank.
