Just heard two little girls were killed in Beirut by a cluster bomb...
It got two seconds on CNN, probably less on Fox.

This country's priorities are seriously fucked.

1. It's simple!

We live "Animal Farm."

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

The sentence is a comment on the hypocrisy of governments that proclaim the absolute equality of their citizens but give power and privileges to a small elite.

And face the fact that this prividledged small elites' blood is valued as "far more precious" than that of "The Chattering Class" peons anywhere in the world! :grr: - The ELITE FEW (and their Blessed Corporate Interests) are considered ALL-IMPORTANT. :puke:

2. They were probably
terrorists or by extension, a potential breeder of them...

They're the enemy...didn't you get that memo?

The whole rationale for a cluster bomb is to indiscriminately kill as many people as you can...it is designed to produce 'terror' and that is why terrorists use them...

HRW release:

Lebanon: Israeli Cluster Munitions Threaten Civilians
Israel Must Provide Data to Save Lives

(Nabatiyeh, August 17, 2006) – United Nations deminers beginning emergency survey and clearance work in the south of Lebanon have identified 10 locations where Israel used artillery-delivered cluster munitions during the recent hostilities, Human Rights Watch reported today. Human Rights Watch researchers in Lebanon have inspected two of those sites in the village of Kfar Roummane.

HRW - more if anyone gives a shit

Unexploded M42 cluster submunitions found outside the town of Kfar Roummane on August 15, 2006. These dud submunitions are extremely dangerous and may detonate if touched or moved. The presence or sighting of one is an absolute confirmation that there are many others in the immediate vicinity. © 2006 UN Mine Action Coordination Center for southern Lebanon.

3. but jeanbenet was the real crime...
She was an american, and worth 1000 lives of mere heathens, hence worth
more threads and concern, and for all the others, a free bomb with your
republican campaign literature...

6. Blondie, cute and WHITE!
I told my Husband and Daughter who are natural blondes that NoBody would look "for me." They both and my best friend (who's also a natural blonde ) promised that they PERSONALLY would look for little old mixed-blood not as WHITE "non-as-pure bred" me. :sarcasm:

Yeah, it's disgusting to watch the palatable RACISM. :puke:

9. beautiful white lamb's wool
Any sheep farmer will tell you, that dark wool is not worth much
compared to white wool, and that blackfaces (sheep), are not worth
their keep. And with a little tartain, the clan in your neighborhood
has imported the same genetic/economiic justification for that palatable racism.

To stand in the company of a blonde is to be a stick of wood, a waste of
space wondering for their luck to know a true aryan genoset.

For every suburban parent the jeanbenet is a nightmare, how their cute little
'white' dollie went missing in a world of war they started.

And what is a white baby next to an american baby, or next to a republican baby,
and all worth less than 1/1000'th of a bush baby.

10. Whoa! And here I thought I couldn't get any more depressed ...
LOL, only teasing. :hi:

But it is a tragedy that people will use almost any distinction to despise "the other."

Sometimes there's even discrimination on "particular shades" of brown. :(

In New Orleans, folks were classified as WHITE if their skin tone was no darker than yer average shopping bag. :puke:

I try to love all of Humanity, even the blonde ones. :P

But those Republicans, ALL flavors, are often very hard to love as REAL fellow human beings.

12. There are some representative cases (e.g., Anne Frank); there
are those that stand out for their various components (e.g., JBR = child pageant sub-culture; crime-free locale; Christmas; wealth; parental suspicion), and there are the many that just....go by.

11. Heard it too
Many people will be killed because there are more than a few bombs around which did not explode. How sad but very few people seem to care.

13. Locking
Several years ago we decided to create a special forum for the discussion of issues involving Israel and Palestine because the topic was so difficult to discuss and the posters on both sides of the issue were so intractable in their beliefs and so willing to toss out red-hot rhetoric that it was ruining the message board for everyone else.

For the past month we have relaxed the rules to allow discussion of the conflict involving Israel and Hezbollah in the General Discussion forum. Two weeks ago we instituted temporary guidelines in an attempt to keep the peace in General Discussion, but since the news coming out of the region seems to indicate that things are calming down, the admins feel that this is an appropriate time to return to our previous rules.

HOW WE WILL BE HANDLING DISCUSSION OF THE MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT FROM THIS POINT FORWARD
Discussions involving Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Hezbollah, Hamas, et al. must once again take place in the Israel/Palestine forum and must abide by the rules of that forum.

Discussions of the Middle East conflict may take place in the Latest Breaking News forum providing that they abide by the rules of that forum.
Please don't send us complaints that the subject has been "banished" to the "basement." If you are truly interested in discussing this subject in a civil fashion, you can get to the Israel/Palestine forum with two clicks of your mouse. If you are logged in, you can add the Israel/Palestine forum to your "My Forums" listing by simply clicking here.

Thank you once again for your patience and understanding.
