A few minutes ago I just saw on CNN a videotape of a Lebanese general talking to an Israeli commander during the recent conflict. Why would these people be talking about President Bush? Could it have something to do with Sy Hersch's story?

You know, Israel's brave Christian allies during the occupation of Lebanon for 18 years. S. Lebanese Army types have no hostility towards the IDF; it was the PLO etc. that they fought against, with the Israelis, together.
The guy's not big enough on the food chain to be anything but a convenient scapegoat for the Lebanese government when he was caught behaving like a polite host while his "guests" made themselves right at home.
