Should DU boycott Yahoo?
After the revelation that Yahoo has provided the BFEE with browser records, apparently putting up no resistance at all, I think we at DU should boycott Yahoo.

I've used Yahoo as my home-page and search engine for well over a decade, but no more. I've already canceled my account and e-mailed them about their heinous invasion of privacy and erosion of liberty. I will never link to Yahoo news again. I ask that other DUers join me in this boycott.

Our liberties are disappearing in this country at an alarming rate, we must make ourselves be heard. I know this is a very small step to that end but every journey starts with one little step.

Let Yahoo know that we are NOT pleased!

1. YES boycott Yahoo

I thought they were campaign contributors? Am I confusing them with Amazon something?

3. I dumped Yahoo this morning...
and canceled all my accounts there.

I also wrote them telling them that I am no longer going to visit their site.

Then I went and posted the same information on their corporate stock board.

Chew them up, and spit them out.

6. Too damn hard to keep up with all the boycotts.
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 12:56 PM by Silverhair
If it were just Yahoo, it would be that difficult. But if one makes a list of all the places and businesses that somebody wants to be boycotted, it becomes too much to keep up with it all. So I just go with whoever is giving me persoanlly the best deal at the moment.

As far as Yahoo, I rarely use them anyway.

From now on, I shall assume that anything I do on the internet is available to the gov't, if they want to look.

8. I have to wonder if there isn't some Bushite nutcase involved with Yahoo..
Yesterday there was a story about how badly Yahoo is "losing the advertising battle" to Google on the "news". I think it was the Today show. Apparently Yahoo stock is dropping as a result. Shortly thereafter came the story about Google resisting the administrations request for these internet records. Now we find out Yahoo complied with the request. Kind of gives me the impression the "battle" might get a little heated and Yahoo may be being backed by the same idiots who are threatening and controlling our airwaves.
