August 17th,2006 Do You Feel......



Total VICTORY for the DEMS in the air??????.......Right now I certianly dont.....Is there an October suprise in the works??

...a "total" victory. Why are you pessimistic? One chamber of congress would make me ecstatic.

3. I think there's certainly room for hope.
I don't know the expecting total victory is a reasonable anywya, and I doubt many of us here do expect total victory - but expecting total failure through some brillian rovian move or "October surprise" seems equally unrealistic.

On the other hand, being a pollyanna and ignoring the almost 100% certainty of a devastating, psychically-shocking October Surprise is the one startegy guaranteed to ensure it's complete and utter success.

If our Democratic Leadership had any sense and guts, they (or their proxies) would be bringing up the 2004 October Surprises at every turn, so that when it happens (and it's a 99% chnace it will, whatever "it" actually is), people will remember to be skeptical.
