They found a marauding ‘hybrid mutant’?
Maybe Bush was right to warn us about "human animal hybrids" -- can they be far behind?

1. What the hell is that???
"It was charcoal gray, weighed between 40 and 50 pounds and had a bushy tail, a short snout, short ears and curled fangs hanging over its lips, he said. It looked like 'something out of a Stephen King story.'"

Superfreaky.

27. Chows are amazing dogs
At least, the one we had was. She came from the pound and was soooo freaking smart. She would never bark at friends or nice people but bad people got to see why these dogs were bred to guard.

20. it's dna was said to be exactly that- and my friend
has a beautiful, well mannered female, wolf-hybrid (who is cream colored)-
Just because no one has 'claimed' this animal, doesn't mean it wasn't someones pet- (wasn't it found hit by a car?)

The sensationalism of the media is really pretty ridiculous-

I mean, listening to the 'woman terrorists' 'weapons'- "a pack of matches, a lighter, and a phillips screwdriver" or that "she had a bottle of water that didn't appear to have been distributed on the plane"- sounds SOOO 'out-there' when you really stop and listen.

Have we become a society of paranoid brain dead people-???

the boogey men are everywhere-!!! sad thing is, the REAL boogey men are pulling the strings, and manipulating us all.....

28. Last I heard there was no DNA test that could tell the difference
This has been an issue for owners of wolf-dogs and wolf-looking domestic dogs in areas that prohibit ownership of wolf hybrids; there is no way to distinguish between a wolf and a dog other than appearance, and many dog breeds and mixed-breeds look "wolfy."

Domestic dogs were recently reclassified as members of Canis lupus based on genetic similarity, which ought to give wolf-dog owners legal standing to challenge some of those laws, and especially to challenge the legal status of wolves and wolf-dogs in regard to rabies vaccination (current statutes in most places hold that vaccines are presumed not to work on wolf-dogs).

The dog in the picture looks more like a Chow to me, though, especially in coat texture. Poor doggie. :-(

12. Sounds like the kind of hysteria you might read about
"Glowing eyes & evil stare, with a unforgettable stench"

lol - what a hilarious story. The animal may very well be a wolf-dog hybrid, but I think the earth is safe from these marauding monsters. :P

17. Cryptozoologist's opinion: it's a chow or chow mix
Check out this fun site: http://www.cryptomundo.com/

Loren Coleman is the founder of a cryptozoology museum in Lewiston, Maine. He travels the state, checking out reports of weird animals. He doesn't think this animal is particularly weird.

23. Don't blame the mutant hybrid, blame the owners.
Edited on Fri Aug-18-06 10:48 AM by newportdadde
I know quite a few mutant hybrids that do not eat cats or other dogs like Dobermans. If raised in a loving home the mutant hybrid can use it fangs to caress a newborn baby to sleep or use its harmonic howling sooth the raw nerves of a stressed out family.
