3 Doctors forced off plane.....falsley ID'd...
3 Doctors returning to Winnipeg on a connecting flight from Denver were forced off their flight earlier this week. One was Muslim. All were dark skinned.
A passenger in front of them who was drunk at the time, claimed he heard one of them state "I have control of the aisle now" They were then questioned by the FBI and TSA security let them go shortly after checking things out. However they missed their flight and still had to overnight in Denver because their ordeal with no compensation. These passengers want a full investigation through the government on this. New policies have to be implemented here.

MDs forced off plane

Fri Aug 18 2006 By Mary Agnes Welch

THREE young Winnipeg doctors -- one a Muslim -- were kicked off a flight home from Denver earlier this week after a passenger falsely identified them as a terrorist threat. Dr. Ahmed Farooq, a fourth-year radiology resident, and two physician friends want an apology from United Airlines and assurances staff will be better trained to identify genuine threats. Winnipeg Centre MP Pat Martin has also asked federal Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day to raise the issue with his counterpart in Washington. "It's the most egregious example of this device of racial profiling I know about among my constituents," said Martin. "These are valuable, upstanding members of our society. Civil rights shouldn't be collateral damage in this whole fight against terrorism." But officials with United Airlines say they are obliged to take any allegations threatening passenger safety seriously, particularly in a period of heightened tension like the one following last week's discovery of a British terrorist plot targeting transatlantic.....

4. Speaking while dark skinned is now a crime on a plane.
It was a perfectly normal jest to make. It is so sick what this fake war on terror has done to our country.

9. some DRUNKEN passengers prejudice is now paramount?
what a crock. they should sue his ass. locally, a prominant doctor, whose nation of origin is pakistan, stopped bothering to go shopping with his family across the border in port huron, MI because of the constant harrassment by the us border patrol. and one of our award-winning authors, rohinton mistry, cancelled a us book tour a couple years back for the same reason. this crap has got to stop.

14. If the drunken or otherwise impaired
reporter is WHITE, that's ALL ya need ta know.

In an altercation with an Aussie, I was threatened with "I'm calling the police! Who are they gonna believe, me or YOU?" I had documentation and spoke better German. I told him, "BE MY GUEST!" NO WAY would I have ever felt so confident in the U.S.

16. it has always been one as far as i know
every itinerary i've ever received from a travel agency has included such language as, "on tuesday we will overnight at the hummingbird b&b so that we will be in place by dawn to watch the fly-out of the sandhill cranes"

17. can you charge someone for mishearing something?
twould be a crime to be deaf

the proper action was to ignore the drunk's claims in the first place if you ask me but i don't suppose anyone did ask me

if the drunk was persistent, in other words, truly acting drunk and belligerent, yeah, tell him to sit down and shut up and then charge him if he don't comply

but we can't make it a crime to repeat what we've overheard incorrectly or every high school student and gossipy housewife would be in prison
