Should some non-Americans get to vote in US elections?
If the majority of immigrants who are voting got the privilege of voting by breaking US law, then wouldn't it be a good idea to balance those votes with votes from people who have not broken US law?

Would it be possible to create a legal route for foreigners who are outside of the USA to vote in US elections?

1. Why should we let foreigners outside the USA vote in US elections?
It seems to make no sense to me.

8. Suppose some person would qualify for legal immigration except
that there is a big surplus in the USA of people who do the particular kind of work that that person does.

Then maybe that person would be qualified to become a "voting only" legal immigrant. In other words, since the person wouldn't actually be moving to the USA, it wouldn't matter what kind of work the person does.

3. Actually as we apparently believe that we rule the world
I would support opening up the election process to the entire planet. We do believe in 'mocracy, right?

16. Are you suggesting that there should be an international treaty
with several countries simultaneously introducing the new approach to voting?

17. I was just asking a question on your original post.
If they are allowed to vote here, then we should be allowed to vote there.

7. Illegal immigrants can't vote. In fact, legal immigrants and people
legally in the US in nonimmigrant statuses certainly cannot vote.

Only citizens (native born and naturalized) can vote.

This is just as bad as the welfare myth. Illegals aren't eligible for welfare either. If they get any, it is fraud. Which US citizens are capable of, also. Separate problem.

Straw man, false argument and there are worse laws to break. Every time you speed or violate a traffic law, you are doing something worse. That could kill somebody.

I guess now that the Israelis have calmed down the illegals get to take back the spotlight as the number one problem in the world.

15. Do you claim that illegal immigration is never the first step in a
process that allows a person to legally vote in US elections?

If it is sometimes the first step, then why not provide an alternative route to getting an opportunity to vote in US elections, a route with no steps that break US law?

Voting should be only limited to legal U.S. citizens of adequate age period.

I'm sure you meant well but I find the concept of allowing foreigners to vote in our elections to be absurd and ridiculous.

no non-American should ever be allowed to vote
in American elections. And non citizens found to
vote or attempting to vote should be deported and
never allowed back in the US again.

14. Actually I support the idea of legal immigrants voting in local elections.
It seems like a no brainer for me, and its not entirely unprecedented, many countries allow resident aliens to vote in LOCAL elections only, sometimes provincial/state elections as well. But if you think about it, let's say someone, and their family, moves here because of a job, they pay most of the same taxes as we do, and the kids go to the same public schools, why couldn't they have a voice in at least local politics, like municipal and school board elections, as an example.
