Coal-mine drama and $375,000 Bush fundraiser: Chickens home to roost
http://www.pnionline.com/dnblog/attytood/archives/002683.html

The Aracoma mine, where two miners are missing after a fire, had seen a recent increase in accidents and safety citations. It is owned by Massey Energy Co., whose director “Buck” Harless raised $375,000 for Bush in 2000 and which, according to a federal whistleblower, benefited almost immediately from a whitewash of the worst environmental disaster in the history of the Eastern U.S.

4. It's true
Gore would have been elected in 2000 were it not for West Virginia, especially the coal regions. And of course Bush won the state again in 2004.
