5. 6 years and how many deaths?
100K to 300K Iraqis
2,600 American probably more like 10K

add the deaths that will come about because of the lack of funding for social program
throw in the 9/11 3,000 deaths for this freak administration that did nothing to stop it
throw in the 2, 3, 4K whatever the Katrina numbers were

Good work Chris - next time you confess to your priest you might want to mention the deaths.

WAY too little - WAY too late

8. Silly.
Matthews has opposed the Iraq war from the beginning. He is no more responsible for any of the deaths than you are.

10. No matter
if you like him or not, your comment on his "responsibility" for the deaths in Iraq is absolutely wrong.

12. No actually I don't think so
I think that if he helpe keep these freaks in office he is responsible and truthfully I think we're all a bit responsible for not doing more to get rid of these murderous bastards in this administration. Trouble is I just don't know what we should, would or could do - but I believe just because we've been against this atrocity we all hold some level of responsibility.

Its just an opinion neither right or wrong - if you think he has no responsibility fine - I just don't agree.

18. So after your post I decided to do a google on Chris Matthews
and yes there is a lot out there about him being against the war - but there is also a lot out there demonstrating his sucking up to the repunks - and now I'm thinking Jesus what must it be like to be Chris Matthews - on the one hand being opposed to the invasion of Iraq but at the same time being so suck upish to the people most directly responsible - man it must hurt his head - I know looking at all those contradictory articles on him hurt mine....

4. Too smart..too late
This is all by design. These shows thrive on conflict.. They have to have it.. If they don't have it they will create it.. It the best of all worlds, they DO get it both ways.. They whoop it up at the thought of war, jump on the bandwagon, garrote the driver and run the horses to death...and then they change their tune and bemoan the consequences of the whole ware they supported so happily..(when it all turns to shit)

This nonsense is why people are so divided.. We are manipulated (well not US, but most people) by the press and then they turn on a dime and tell us that it was all a sham..

7. Yes. He has always opposed this war.
I think he is worried that these crazy, rat bastards will pull something on Iran. IMO, that's why he's speaking up.

11. Well, Phil Donahue opposed the Iraqi invasion & MSNBC fired him for it.
Chris Matthews was not the "only one on MSNBC" who opposed the illegal invasion into Iraq. That distinction goes solely to the great Phil Donahue, who by the way, had great ratings at the time.

Matthews' "opposition" to the invasion (not a war by the war by the way initially and is now a civil war) was tepid, if not whispered. Of course, he kept his job.

On the other hand, MSNBC pulled the plug on Donahue's patriotic questioning of Bush's folly.

Mr. Matthews also opined that Al Gore was "an idiot" when he first challenged the vote fraud in Florida. "An idiot".

Matthews is pure shit in my eyes and always will be.

14. Matthews' son was a Dean supporter. Matthews "opposition" was tepid.
Thanks, by the way for pulling the old "Repug" charge in your defense of Matthews who was (back to my earlier post) not the only one on MSNBC opposing the war.
