AAR Update - Sam Sedar says he has an offer for "daytime slot" |
|
Well, we know Rachel Maddow is moving to the early evenings, so will Sam take her early morning slot, or will he get Jerry Springer's time?
I know which one I'm hoping for. I'm on the West Coast, so there's a hint.

1. Majority Report doesn't begin here for another couple of hours |
|
Hoot. I was becoming worried. Although, in Portland we don't get AAR, we get several of their shows on our progressive station. If he moves, I hope Sam will replace Ed Schultz on our station, cause we don't get Rachel here. :D

14. We do get Rachel on the Portland Station... |
|

You just have to be up really early in the morning.
I agree... I wouldn't cry if someone replaced Ed. Actually, I'd just like it if they ran Randi at her regular time.

17. Are you talking "Washington Journal" early? |
|
lol. If I'm up at that hour I'm listening to/watching WJ on c-span--although when the freepers swarm I have to turn it off sometimes or I may just have a stroke or something one day. Thanks for the heads up, though, I've been wanting to check out Rachel's show.
Yep, the hour that I'm most likely to listen to radio is the time slot that ED is in and that annoys me. I, too, would love it if they played Randi live.

20. That's why I stream Randi... |
|
I'll listen to Ed while I drive home... then I turn on the PC and stream Randi. It's a much better option for my sanity. :)

2. I'm on the West Coast, too |
|
If he got Springer's spot, I'd still get stuck with the two Wills in SF. I love Willie Brown, the politician, but Willie Brown, the radio personality? I don't think so.
If only I could roll out of bed in the morning and put Sam Seder on the radio like I used to with Morning Sedition.

3. More Likely, we'll have Rachel from 6pm-8pm est... then |
|
Sam from 8p-10p eastern, then Malloy from 10p-1a Eastern.

10. I wish we had Malloy on from 10-1 again |
|
@ 1150 KTLK. They have some appalling idiot named harrison on from 10-1. He is godawful. I cannot believe they canned Maron for that twit! I cannot believe that Malloy is only on for ONE HOUR in LA. I'm back 2 streaming his show the next morning cuz ktlk only broadcasts the last hour.

4. It's a good idea to put him on earlier. |
|
Few people listen to the radio after 7PM. Most people just listen to the radio in their cars.
And those of us who tune into Sam Seder at home via the internet are more likely to already be convinced then someone who finds AAR on the car radio.

5. If only they'd get rid of Ed Schultz! |
|
He's only syndicated to them, anyway. But he's on when I'm sometimes driving -- so I have to switch to NPR.

8. Schultz is not connected with AAR in any capacity |
|
And thank God for that! Unfortunately, some local stations (usually Clear Channel affiliates) somehow get the idea that "Limbaugh Lite" = "progressive radio".
Hell, it's bad enough AAR is stuck with Al Franken, who gives airtime to dittoheads and traitorous AEI slimebags.

9. Al and Ed are important as transitional objects--bridges to reality |
|
and Ed surprises me sometimes like covering election rigging, and even suggesting that the current flurry of terrorist stuff in the news is mighty convenient for the GOP given Karl Rove saying the fall election will be about fear.

16. Sam deserves the best slot possible |
|
so that more people can hear him. I've been streaming at home for quite a while and IMO he's gotten better and better (esp without Garofalo, not that I have anything against her). I like it that he takes calls and like I said on another thread, he's gotten to be a real master at handling RW cranks.

6. I hope they boot Jerry. After that interview he had with the 9/11 PhD, |
|
I wrote a scathing email to the producer stating I'd never listen to him again or anything he was on. Then, I wrote a email to AAR. The nerve of that guy to have a scientist on talking about science and the official report don't jive and Jerry being confrontational with him.

|
He's actually done 7 hours at a stretch, standing in for Randi and then doing his own show. I know this is a business, but that kind of dedication deserves a reward, not a kick in the pants.

I think Sam's great. I just think Thom's the best.

21. It would be best if they yanked Franken and put Thom on in his place |
|
Thom puts right wingers like Whoreowitz or that moron from CNS "News" on the air, but at least he makes it clear he disagrees with them. While Al gives AEI traitors their own theme music. Definite difference.
