Play Guess WHO told Matthews to kill show exposing Murtha's swiftliars
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 02:36 PM by blm
We all saw the promos for Hardball boasting that they would uncover the network of operatives working to swiftboat Murtha, just as they did to McCain, Cleland, and Kerry.

That show never ran. Matthews hasn't even made mention of it again.

Put up your guess as to who told Tweets to kill the show.

My guess: Jack Welch, full-fledged member of the BFEE. Set up MSNBC and NBC news as PR dept. for General Electric's defense industry interests. Seems to exert the most control over Matthews. (probably co-signed on his mortgage for him)

1. What was the Swifties lawyers name? The one who left the White House
to work exclusively with the Swifties . A DU'er pointed out that the night after Michelle Malkin was exposed on Mathews show this lawyer appeared on every single "Hardball" from that point until the election.

What was that guy's name?

(NOTE this proves no connection between the White House and the Swifties just because the guy was working IN the White House and FOR the Swifties at the same time and when given the choice he left the work serving his country and his President in the middle of a campaign in favor of a group who were destined to disband in a couple of months).

5. The EVIL Ben Ginsberg. Showing up to defend Bush on NSA spying now, too.
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 02:13 PM by blm
Nope. Don't see a connection there. Ginsberg is NOT a political operative. Ben must be one of them there LONE WOLF types...you know the kind....Republican party is full of them. ;)

14. When karl cut matthews off from the bushbot flow, MSNBC HIRED GINSBERG
Edited on Fri Jan-20-06 03:20 PM by emulatorloo
Karl got pissed off when Matthews went after the swifties and dared to question Zell Miller (and some other stuff Matthews did)

So no bushbots would appear on hardball.

So MSNBC actually HIRED ginsberg as an "analyst" to appear on hardball.

2. I don't think he needed to be told to do anything.
He falls on his kneepads just fine on his own.

11. But, on swiftliars he usually needs reminding who he works for.
Oddly, he seems uncomfortable attacking veterans and war heros, which does run counter to the typical GOP cutthroat shill.

That's why I want to keep the pressure up about this.

3. You won't get an argument from me........
he's the prime suspect, although it could have been just about anyone in the Corporate Media or bush administration. (I know, that's redundant)

4. To his credit (the tiny bit he has)
every time he refers to the swiftboaters he adds something like "who were completely discredited." That is one issue he's been on the correct side of.

7. Ed Rodgers, that GOP shill he has on
kept telling Chris he was doing a good job the night that segment was supposed to air. I only tuned into to watch that, and it was never mentioned.

made sure Tweety stayed on message by sitting there WITH HIM.

who is running as GOP for Lt. Gov (I think) from PA.

9. Is that why he told the anti-gay joke and compared Murtha to
OBL all in the same day? To appease his benefactors? To keep his knees from being broken?

10. IMO, Tweety is the most vulnerable of the media whores
He's basically spineless, not a true believer like limpballs, insanity or o'lielly. You can tell just from the clips you see that he's trying really hard to impress the wingnut community that he's one of them. And I don't think its working. I've seen several articles/posts/whatever to the effect that they think tweety is a liberal pussy. Must be frustrating for the fat drooler to have to pretend to get a woody over how manly * looks in his tight jeans and still have his credibility challenged.

16. That's just kneejerk reaction to "liberal media" on their part. They are
pretty dense that way. They haven't noticed that the GOP and its cronies have been controlling most media since 1997. Give them a coupls more years. They'll catch on.

17. As Digby and others have pointed out ..Matthews is a "Closet Case"
and who knows what "information" might have been obtained about him from NSA spying, Jeff Gannon's connections or Abramoff and his pals that Matthews was hob nobbing with. That Ed Rogers is a very weird guy. I suspect there's more to him than we know...that Tweety has suddenly become his buddy.

spied on these days...maybe it was a good thing. But...I think there's something there with that Rogers guy...he's very weird...as I said before.

24. He's off his meds.
I was starting to think he was presenting both sides for a while. But he has been awful of late...asking shrill meaningless questions and cutting off the guest's answer only to inject a RW talking point. I'm finished with MSNBC except about ten minutes of Olberman once and a while.

"Plantation, plantation, plantation". His right wing panel condemned her today on his show.

Did I mention "plantation"? :eyes:

unless they are reporting on Britney and Kevin, which is the only kind of reporting they seem capable of.

23. We know that Libby
called Russert in 2003 to complain about Matthews' reporting on Wilson and the Niger business. It seems clear that someone with significant power killed the show. I usually enjoy HardBall, but have found it difficult to watch in the past week. Chris has seemed willing to humiliate himself.

25. I 've only been able to watch snips
before I turn it off. He seems giddy and one night he was sitting and laughing it up with Ben Ginsberg like they were sharing a private joke and it was I think after Gore's speech. It was revolting. Sometimes he's giddy and other times he looks tormented.

I'm not going to worry about him though. He's made his own hell and he can live in it. I don't need for him to drag me down into it too.

Enough of him. He's had to many chances and always fails to live up to expectations when MSNBC cracks the whip. Or, maybe he really is what we see..nothing but a shill for himself and Jack Welch.
