Kucinich
Why does he not run for senator? It would offer up more prestige and opportunity for him to promote change.

Would he just flat out not have a chance?

I love Kucinich.

1. He is one of the very few legislators with any integrity. It's a miracle
he got elected to office in the first place!

4. Really?
Because if so, I'd urge everyone to take a good look at his positions on the issues. I think 95% of us here will find that we agree with him 99% of the time.

Then I'd urge everyone to fuck what the media says about who is "electable" and vote for him.

7. Where did you hear this?
He has my support where ever he happens to be, whether it be the House, a try for the Senate, or another try for the WH. I haven't heard anything about the '08 primary.

9. I was rather hoping that Kucinich would be appointed to a cabinet position
in the Kerry administration. *sigh* :-(

6. As a long time Kucinich supporter
I am happy to have him serving the People in any capacity; however, like you, I would welcome a Senate run from him.

I honestly don't know how he would fair in an Ohio Senate race,
although being an underdog hasn't deterred him thus far...

8. I absolutely agree! I'd vote for him in a heartbeat, for any office!
Edited on Sat Aug-19-06 12:19 PM by Rhiannon12866
He was my candidate in 2004. I voted for John Kerry, and admire him greatly, but my heart will always belong to Dennis...:loveya:

I think he'd make an outstanding senator, but I also think that we need him in the House. With John Conyers, he continues to speak out and make a real difference whenever he's needed.:-)

I heard him on Randi Rhodes a few days ago and realized how much I missed hearing him speak. He's quite an inspiration. He was the only 2004 candidate who actually did vote against the war, and he continues to speak out about bringing our troops home. He's received a lot of criticism for his anti-war stance, which he took since the very beginning, but he's never been one to compromise his beliefs and principles for political gain, unlike so many. Perhaps this would make him unelectable as a senator. But this is exactly the reason that I'd vote for him...:patriot:

on edit: I really like your avatar, MoseyWalker! Great minds think alike...;) And President Carter is also a long-time hero of mine...:patriot:

Rhiannon:hi:

I rank him right up there with Carter.
