Imus Latest To Spew Crude Insults At Lamont
How badly do some people want Joe Lieberman to win? Bad enough to compare Lamont with John Mark Karr, the man who reportedly http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/17/AR2006081700302.html">admitted to killing 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey.

It's just the latest in an increasingly ugly effort to make sure that Lamont doesn't win.

As JABBS has documented, Lieberman's "friends" in the media launched an all-out war against Lamont before he defeated Lieberman in Connecticut's Democratic Senate primary. Now that there's a rematch -- Lieberman is running as an independent -- the stakes have risen, and so have the insults.

2. It's funny that Don Anus...

...should be making lame jokes about how anyone else looks; he looks like the warmed-over corpse of a meth-addicted child molester.

11. Exactly.
The fact that Imus looks like he was Ginsued and reassembled by a blind monkey on acid with a batch of 5 minute epoxy doesn't prevent him from being the equivalent of the crap that accumulates at the base of your toilet after it has gone about 5 or 6 years without a proper cleaning.

This fucker is the last person on Earth who should open his hole about anyone's appearance. Unfortunately, like most good Nazis, his balls are bigger than his brain.

5. And through it all Lamont remains patient, calm, and steadfast.
when MSM try to throw remarks at him to get a stir. He replies with a thoughtfully construed statement. He really makes Lieberman and the Repugs look like a circus. You don't become a self-made millionare of a company without having a head on your shoulders. I am actually really proud of the way real Americans can act in the face of politicians.

7. Does Imus live in CT?
Does he have a reason to have an opinion on this? Do the CT senators represent him? I'd bet not, so he needs to shut the fuck up. This isn't his business.

9. Well he does.
He lives in Westport. I think his comment is idiotic but an idiotic comment from a radio talk show host is as surprising as (Put favorite old saying here). And I certainly wouldn't restrict comments to the CT Senate race to only registered CT voters. I mean let's be honest if it wasn't for people outside of CT there would be no Lamont candidacy at all.

10. I don't think we should restrict commentary
but Imus has a nationwide show. His opinion voiced on that show is tantamount to campaigning, and that's much different that the average person discussing the situation.

13. he has a right to make the comment
but it just shows how people are lining up to throw darts at Lamont. It really scares people to think that an American majority (57%) might actually vote for candidates that agree we should be getting out of Iraq.

14. He does have the right to make the comments
He even has the right to campaign. The problem comes in with the fact that when he is doing his show, people don't understand that he really is campaigning, so the effect of what he is saying passes through people's filters.

My first thought was that if he was not from CT, then why should his opinion matter? after all, the election is mostly about who is going to represent CT, and as much as I don't like Lieberman, I'm not taking to a soapbox to get rid of him (which Imus really is doing, if he's discussing it on his show) or any other candidates representing places I don't live. The voters decided to back Lamont over Lieberman - I don't live in CT, so why should my opinion, or anyone else's opinon who doesn't live there, outweigh theirs? I can gripe all I want about people's choices for representation in other areas, but in the end, it's not my choice to make.

Unfortunately, Imus lives in CT. That sucks.

15. his listeners know
he said he's supporting lieberman.

I don't mind any of them supporting lieberman. my problem is that they have to lie or smear lamont to do it. is their passion for lieberman so weak that they can't just lay out some arguments FOR lieberman, vs. AGAINST Lamont?

18. That's the way the Republican Attack Machine works
They truly view themselves as superior to the rest of the world. Anything they can do to win, they do, because they believe they are supposed to win.

8. And what does Lieberman look like? Honestly Liberman supporters
Edited on Sat Aug-19-06 12:34 PM by saracat
ought not to go into a looks debete. Lieberman is the singularly ugliest politician we have in either party. He can't be compared with anyone human as he is a troll! And no one has ever said anything about his looks! Because his looks aren't what was considered important. And Imus himself has no room to talk.

12. Tweety showed some class
from the link:
IMUS: It reminds -- we thought it was Ned Lamont, the guy running against Lieberman. ...

MATTHEWS: But he's a strange -- I'm looking at him now -- strangest-looking guy.

IMUS: We thought it was Ned Lamont.

MATTHEWS: Well, yeah, you made that point.

IMUS: I'm trying to make it again, Chris. You want to help us here? Chris, we're supporting Lieberman, if you did not know that.

MATTHEWS: I have noticed that trend here.

On paper, Matthews seems to be almost doing his job--as opposed to Imus who was doing his job perfectly.

17. what would be better
is if pundits who supported lieberman gave a reason to support lieberman, and the same for pundits who support lamont.

no one wins when all we have is a battle of your lie vs. my half-truth, your insult vs. my name-calling.
