Brunner gave a great speech today at the DNC...help her send a sign..

I was so impressed by this lovely lady running for Secretary of State of Ohio. She spoke so well and so clearly. Apparently the Democratic chairman is highly supportive of this campaign to take back the positions in states to control the voting mechanisms.

She has a project called Send a Sign...you can donate a small amount to send a sign to send a message to Blackwell.

What it means
People from across the United States are supporting Jennifer Brunner and her campaign for Ohio Secretary of State. They have helped her with their thoughts, donations and requests for ideas on how Americans outside of Ohio can help restore integrity to the Ohio election process. Jennifer Brunner has instituted a “Send a Sign Program,” to give Ohioans and people across the country an opportunity to "send a sign" that they believe in Ohio and that Ohio can have better elections with Jennifer Brunner as Secretary of State.

How it works
Wouldn’t it be great to cover all of Ohio with thousands of Brunner signs telling Kenneth Blackwell that Americans all over the country demand free, fair, open and honest elections?
For only $5, you can purchase a Brunner sign and designate where you want it sent. The more signs that are sent, the greater the message to Blackwell – Americans will not tolerate tampering with the right to vote.

What do those ribbons mean?
It's geographic tracking. Various regions of the country have been assigned a color ribbon that will be attached to a Jennifer Brunner sign to designate which region of the country is sending a “Sign” to Kenneth Blackwell. Click here to see what color represents each region of the country.

A very impressive lady.

8. Strictly speaking, she isn't running against Blackwell
His seat is open as he is running for Governor.

Mind you, if he isn't dragged out of office in handcuffs, I don't hold any hopes for Ohio wins

6. Thanks. I was so impressed by her.
Was that her first time on national television? If so she deserves a medal for coolness and speaking ability.

This is what Howard Dean means by taking back the statehouses so we control the voting. I was glad to hear her mention his support.

We can win at national level, but it won't stick if we don't win in the states at state level as well.

12. I talked to her shortly after she responded to a question posed by
Mimi Kennedy during a PDA Conference in March. The question was knowing that the GOP stole the election in 2004 and turning over power to the Dems would initiate real investigations, what are you doing to combat this issue? Needless to say I was estatic that a REAL question was being asked but was totally disappointed in her response. She said she was reviewing the all the directives coming out of Blackwell's office and addressing each of them. THAT WAS IT. Needless to say I was expecting a little more so I rushed over to ask for more depth. I introduced myself and asked why she and the other Ohio Dems are not touching the GAO Repoert on Electronic Voting. No response. I asked her why the Dems weren't making an issue out of how poorly Blackwell administered the '04 election and why they weren't using Blackwell's Lucas County Investigation against im. She told me Lucas County was Sen Fedor's district . I attempted to ask more, a Campaign aide came by and cut off any additional questions. Not a good impression.

13. Did you hear her speech today?
She did a lot of that. I was very impressed. This is why I quit working with many voting activists because the harder I tried, the more I did, the more it was just never enough.

She was outstanding today, and we are most lucky to have her as a candidate for our party.

14. Sorry, put my full trust in candidates in 2004 to stand up for the vote.
I thought after 2000 our party would be on tp of it. Now I realize it is up to us to force issues and make sure the vote is transparent and verifiable. It is up to us to make sure issues are addressed.

15. Did you hear her speech?
I have a real fear about this issue. I worked so hard with voter groups until I realized it did not matter. Nothing every satisfies. My fear is that we might reach the point of excusing people who lose elections because they really lost them, and blaming their losses on voting machines.

If you heard this lady's speech, and you were not impressed...then I am surprised.

This is disheartening.

9. I was very impressed with her as well
I was unfamiliar with Brunner until today's DNC event. I was impressed at how well she seemed to understand all of the voting issues in Ohio--including Diebold and the coruption of the gop.

I'll be sending off $5. :hi:

16. Great pic of Darcy Burner and Jennifer Brunner from DNC blog. Video link.

"Darcy spoke passionately about the importance of taking back the House this November. By entwining her personal story with her core convictions, she delivered a powerful message about the need for a new direction for America. Watch Darcy, here.

DNC Vice-Chair Susie Turnbull introduced Jennifer Bruner, who is running for Secretary of State in the battleground state of Ohio. Jennifer talked about the importance of down ballot races. She also talked about the importance of voter protection and the need to return to running free, fair, open and honest elections in Ohio. You can watch it, here."

Thanks to the DNC for getting these videos up at YouTube.
