It's November 2008...McCain v Clinton
....and let's for the sake of argument say Nader throws his hat in the ring as a spoiler again. Who are you going to vote for? Just those three.....no one else is left. What are you going to do? Why?

1. I'd vote for my cat before I'd vote Repub or Nader.
And my cat's dead.

So it doesn't mean much that I'd vote for Clinton. But I would.

In answer, Clinton, obviously, but I won't get to vote as I am not an American.

But I do not think she will be running against McCain. It will be St. Rudy of 9/11. He is their trump card.

Do not underestimate the man. No what what he says. He is arrogant and power hungry.

I'm pretty sure you won't get anyone to come right out and say they would vote republican no matter who the candidate is going to be.

7. I beg to differ.......
I just saw posters on LBN state they would NEVER vote for Hillary and I have seen posters here say that here and say it often.... I want to see where everyone stands the issue. It's very likely it could come down to a similar scenario.

11. Sorry. But if a poster here advocates for a republican versus a
democrat, that is grounds for banning. You should hit alert if you see that.

Advocating for various dems in the primaries is of course allowed, but advocating AGAINST a democratic candidate in favor of a candidate from another party isn't.

13. They haven't said they would vote for a Republican...
Only said they would NEVER vote for Hillary. I'm just trying to get across that there may come a time when we will need every single vote to get a Democrat put back in the WH.

There's not a contender for the Democratic nomination that I can think of that I wouldn't vote for once the election of 2008 comes upon us. My whole point is to hammer this home.

So, obviously, if you are here at DU, you would choose Clinton. Anyone that would choose McCain over her didn't read the rules of this board.

8. Um...gee...
Clinton...

That's not a tough decision at all. Despite being portrayed as a moderate by the "librul media", McCain is a right-wing nut in more ways than four. And Nader is just a jackass. Hillary Clinton, though not my primary pick, would be far more acceptable than the other choices you've offered here. You could at least try to challenge us here...

Iwill admit, I happen to think Hillary would make a very good president! I'm not really positive he SHE wants to go through what it would take to get there, and what sshe would have to endurewhile in office, but I like most of what she does. I would NEVEr vote for a PUB, butChuck Hagle is not a bad guy either, and I think he has a better chance than McCain.

Democrats shouldn't assume that they have my vote, even though I despise what's happened under *. Clinton/Gore, Clinton/Edwards, Clinton/ Clark might get my vote, but I see no need to nominate Hillary. It is a death wish almost ensuring a repub victory (IMHO).

I thought you might be kidding about neutralunderground.com but, it does exist. I'm wondering why the original question was asked, if McCain was an unacceptable answer. Trick question?

I'll guarantee a vote for Webb in VA but not for every possible Democrat that might be nominated for the rest of my life! If that's not good enough for DU, then sayonara.

The blind support by repubs for * is why we are in the current mess. I'd suggest no one blindly pledge their vote.

Democratic Corporatist versus Republican Corporatist/egoist. I would N-E-V-E-R vote for McCain, one of the most venal, self-serving, and disingenuous figures in modern American politics. If I would vote for Clinton, it would not be because of her politics or party affiliation, but simply because of her sex. Of course, that's not an especially good reason to vote for her, and her IWR vote among others weighs heavily against her; I'm not inclined to vote for anyone who supported that.

All things considered, I'd most likely vote third party or sit things out. As a red stater, it's not likely to make any difference anyway.

29. This Is So NOT! Given the Climate of Politics Today....
This does NOT WORK FOR ME! I find these choices repugnant! My wish is for something SO MUCH BETTER!

I'm not a Hillary fan, WON'T vote Repuke... and Nader while he has been an activist for people actually has made things so much worse by injecting himself into Presidential politics! A good man, who has fought a good fight regarding many divergent issues, IMHO should NEVER have run for political office! And to think that he would even be a "contender" is ridiculous to me.

Isn't he OLDER than McCain?? This scenario scares me, but I doubt it will present itself. Even though McCain has had his "moderate" views presented from time to time, he also is getting on in years! Plus, when all is said and done, he's actually a BUSHIE!! I'm not sure exactly how old he is, but I think he will be older in '08 than Reagan was!

Both parties need NEW Young Blood! Strangely, I think Democrats have MORE young blood than Repukes! Guiliani is viable, but will Repukes flop that way??

Even while MSM and Repukes push Hillary on us, I think that by '08 she's not going to be all that popular. I once felt Hillary could be the FIRST Woman President, now she is so far down on my list that it's hard for me to get too excited. I consider myself a Democrat, and can only WISH that in time we "see the light" and get serious about ISSUES! Get serious and aggressive about what REALLY matters. I don't like the game she's playing trying to appeal to "Independents" by siding with too many Repukes. For me, it has to get MUCH better than her!

I'm sick of MONEY making all the decisions, and yes I do realize that this is what it has come down to. I seriously think that if things don't change from that status quo, I actually want to move to Costa Rica or some other place that doesn't have to put up with this crap!!!

This IS NOT an America I know!!! Folks, there comes a time when even America can lose.. we are no longer the POWER we once were!! Look around, South American countries are getting so much stronger and uniting together. China has immense power, and the "terrorists" aren't going away either. They seem only to be getting stronger, and America is only poking a stick in a fire ant bed!

These past ten years of American History have been devastating to a once great country and it's going to take so much more to regain our status as a Super Power than most Americans are willing to admit to. Just saying we are a Super Power, doesn't make it a fact!!

There is a possibility I'm wrong, but from what I'm seeing... too many other countries are beginning to look upon us as a "paper tiger" of sorts. Politicians ALWAYS talk about how we need "change" and they are correct, but are we going to get it??

But I'll be very interested to see how many of our "pure progressives" around here howl and complain in such an instance - and how many (like Lincoln, Zhade, KoKo, etc.) turn out to be the closet FResno fans many of us suspect they certainly are...

On edit: spelling, "close" to "closet" - though either is accurate, in a sense.

If anyone could be the poster child for the 90s rise of human garbage like Rush its Hillary. She was demonized along with Bill 24/7, there is so much hate for her. The woman is so polarizing she would energize and bring back those who are disgruntled with the RW like no other. A sure way to loose the election.
