Right wing responses to the inevitable draft? |
|
Since we're over there let no stone remain unturned, no cave unsearched until our "freedom-loving" ideology reigns the world. It may take generations of wars and aggression, but we must be victorious for freedom.
To continue the charade of war under current leadership will require a draft. All able-bodied men and women age 18-40. Think of the righties (and lefties) you know and imagine their reaction to conscription to further freedom under a corporatist neocon philosophy.

And I would likely try to get into USAF officer's college using my parent's connections and land a nice safe desk job in Point Barrow, AK. *sarcasm on*
But yes, I am of age and I am the only male child in our family, doesn't that allow for exemption from the draft?

There used to be an exemption along the lines that if all the males but you were killed in war, you could get out and go home. Probably to manage the farm or or some such. These days, this is not an exemption.

It used to be to carry on the family name since it moves through sons. No sons, no family name.

16. Sole Surviving Son (or Daughter) clause only kicks in if... |
|
a family member has been lost as a result of military service.
It is important to keep in mind that the provisions are directly related to service-connected deaths. The mere fact that a man is the only child or only son does not qualify him for consideration - he must be the survivor of one who died as a result of military service.

17. Because I have researched it. |

Nothing to do with the family name now. It has been debunked as an exemption. Don't count on college exemption either as now you get to finish the quarter or semester you are currently enrolled in and off you go.
Edited to add, although I always could be wrong so I'd advise you to go research it if you are thinking about it. Anyways, all the other males have to have been killed in the military anyway. So unless you have other brothers, and they all get killed in the military, you are out of luck.

3. Massive demonstrations |
|
and protests would follow any call for a draft. I think we'd find a certain percentage of "chickenhawk patriots" changing their minds when their lives are on the line. This is based upon the premise that the repukes wouldn't craft a draft law that would exempt their base.

6. Hell NO, we won't go!!!........ |
|
hmmm, where have I heard that before?
These freepers would shit their pants if they ever had to actually "defend freedom." They've had all the opportunity to join the military, but they are still at their keyboards, typing tough-talk trash.
It is so much easier and safer to be a chickenhawk, just like their leaders. I say all repugs should be the first to be drafted.

the Republicans are stupid enough to reinstate the draft.
I think that the American voter, to the extent that she pays any attention at all to the issue, will realize that the Democrats are the most vocal on the issue, and will falsely think that they support a draft.

13. I going to say this someday |
|
When I see the perfect time to say it in my Political Science class at college, if there's ever an arguement in class pitting Democrats vs Repukes on a subject. I'm going to say this out loud:
"We should just end this discussion right now, everybody knows this class should have nothing Left leaning democrats, being that everybody knows any real right leaning republicans are over in the Iraq fightin' for are freedom" :sarcasm:

The geopolitical ambitions of the ruling party, especially at the next stop, Iran, will require bodies. Do we need another Pearl Harbor again to ensure enlistment or is it getting drafty?
