Kyra Phillips says "That's true" regarding WaPo/Abramoff/Dem Contributions
I just emailed CNN from this page:
http://www.cnn.com/feedback/cnntv/

At about 3:50 Kyra Phillips "attempted" to report on the WaPo blog shutdown story. She incorrectly reported that it was in response to reaction to Howell's Sunday column saying Abramoff gave to Dems and Republicans instead of her "correction" where she claimed Abramoff "directed" donations to Democrats. But, what's worse is - after saying that Howell's column contained a statement saying that Democrats and Republicans received money from Abramoff she proclaimed "That's true!" and then followed with - "But, Republicans received much more than Democrats."

That's true?!??!? In what universe? And yeah - ALL is "much more" than ZERO!

Send them an email if you feel like it. I'm sick of this shit.

4. Well, at least you're trying.
I don't watch television so I am spared the torment. It's bad enough to read their words on DU without watching the chorus-line pundits regurgitate the Repub talking point of the day, or the week, or the month. I don't think my TV would last a week without having something heavy thrown at it, LOL.

3. My EMail to KP...
Kyra, it is not true... Abramoff gave money only to the GOP... The tribes gave money to the Dem's, but they always have favored the Dem's.. What is interesting about this story is that the Tribes started to shovel money at the GOP after they tribes hired Abramoff as their lobbyist when they had a history of supporting only dems... That is what you should have looked at..

Ah, but who needs journalistic integrity when you look like you do... You're a babe and on the TV, so I guess we can discount your lack of journalistic integrity...

Dear Ms. Phillips

Jack Abramoff DID NOT give money to Democrats.

Savvy?

Sincerely,

6. here is mine, I copied yours and added a little of my own flavor to it

You guys really have to get your facts together these lies might have worked 10 years ago but as the internet age grows people that are currently 40 and under are becoming more aware of the lies that the MSM repeats. In other words the public is checking out what you report and what you report is Right Wing talking points. Keep it up - you'll see what happens as more people become better informed.

Also you guys are doing this on a daily basis and hence I have to call you out on a daily basis, so you might as well turn my information over to the NSA, if you haven't already done it.

Peace and keep reporting half truths your audience that believes it is getting smaller by the hour.

9. Wolf Blitzer already lied about this
and Howard Dean took him to the woodshed over it.

But CNN is just going to keep repeating it, anyway- over and over until people believe it.

If the Dems ever grow a spine and get back into power, they need to regulate cable and start fining corporations who knowingly and repeatedly lie like this. I'd go so far as to say yank 'em off the air. Sort of three strike thing.

10. Welcome to Goebbelsian Media!
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

12. I wasted an email on the propaganda machine, also but, it's for
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 02:24 PM by Catrina
historical purposes. To prove that some of us did speak out, when the history of this period is written and people ask 'but why didn't the American people speak out'?

Here it is, just for the record. Wasted on the dimwit traitors at CNN though.

.....

I know this is a waste of my time, but I will save it as a record of the state of our so-called media under this administration, for historical purposes.

If I had not already cancelled my cable subscription three weeks ago, I would have done so several times since the Republican Scandal, known as the Abramoff affairs, broke finally in the MSM.

And if that hadn't done it, your latest hirings from the hate radio rightwing brigade, would most certainly have made up my mind.

Kyra Phillips just repeated the lie that the Republican Abramoff scandal, is bi-partisan scandal according to a blog report I just saw online.

She also by implication, smeared the Indian tribes who were the victims in some of these crimes. Racism? I'm beginning to think so, as are my American Indian friends. These were the VICTIMS, get it?

If you witnessed what happened at the WAPO this week, when their ombudsman attempted to get away with the same lie, you may realize that their readers are way ahead of your propaganda, and have researched the truth for themselves. Over a thousand responses showed the Post that we will no longer tolerate the lies. The same propaganists who sold the country the WMD lies, the NYT, CNN, MSNBC, WAPO. You are all a disgrace.

We will be the media from now on, and the money saved on Cable and on your sponsors, will go to those brave and real journalists who have continued to tell the truth.

Don't bother with a response, I'm not interested in anything you all have to say. And I can assure you, the anger out here at your deliberate attempt to protect the criminals involved in this Republican scandal is palpable, as the Post found out and then suppressed it, blaming it on 'rude' bloggers.

Bloggers are YOUR former audience. There are more and more of them every day. They are US citizens demanding the truth they are entitled to, and we certainly don't have to pay for propaganda. I like my propaganda free of charge.

I no longer believe this is sloppy reporting. That's why I finally canceled you and will encourage everyone else I know to do the same.

Shame on you. Your country should come before your petty little careers. Oops, I guess I'm now a 'rude blogger'.

Whatever, happy ratings, and good night and good luck.

Catrina xxxxx
