Rapture Ala Jung
I've been thinking about this for quite a while, and I figure I'll post something here about it.

Carl Jung often spoke about Archetypes. Without a lot of study, it's pretty diffucult, I think , to understand what he meant by Architypes.

But, basically, these are thought patterns that everyone has. Maybe all species.

Anyway, I believe that this Rapture stuff is an Architype that pervades our species. I believe that this Architype is part of our genetics. We are genetically wired to have this Architype.

And it has to do with colonizing the galaxy. That there will come a point, maybe sooner than later, that most of us will be left behind as we send starships to other places to set up human colonies.

I think that's what all this "Left Behind" and kooky stuff is really all an expression of.

There you have it. I just figure I'll share my thoughts on this matter.

2. It's Fun To Do The Shrink Angle, Anyway
It sure seems like the realm of nuttiness.

3. it's not i'm afraid in the Jungian archetypes
that are outlined.

There appears to be a divide between organized religion and Jungian thought, and i don't want to approach that here. Rapture (as it is presented) seems to be based in a segment of xtian, fundemental interpretation, and is not a collective, human psychic experience, which would be indicative of archetypal expression.

Archetypes are more personal, dealing with the self, consciousness, and the unconscious aspects of oneself.

4. Just imagine a person who feels he/she is so superior to the rest of us

that Jesus will come and take them to a big reward in the sky. It reminds me of the protestant idea that if you are wealthy it's because you live a good life. The left behinds are like the idea of the untouchables in India. It is holier than thou, elitist bullshit.
