Christian Coalition of Alabama says national group is too liberal
Apparently the liberal agents we infiltrated into the Christian Coalition of America have been discovered. I guess we're going to have to call off this year's War on Christmas.

http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/74590807.html

“In every major public policy debate, it is almost guaranteed that the liberal forces opposing our view will try to redefine who we are and feverishly attempt to amend our tenets and mission. The Christian Coalition of America has demonstrated by their actions in word and in deed a desire to drift from our founding tenets. The Christian Coalition of America has left us, we have not left them,” Giles concluded.

CCA Board of Directors is currently developing a new name and logo for the state operation, which will be unveiled on or before November 1, 2006. Giles continues, “A name change was our last resort. We will march forward and continue the mission to educate voters in Alabama with 1.7 million voter guides covering 93 Alabama races. We will engage our 1,900 volunteers to register voters, educate voters and turn them out on Election Day.” Giles letter to Combs concluded with the following statement, “We all deeply love and have served the mission of the Christian Coalition with our heart, soul, reputations and finances. We must now preserve the mission of the Christian Coalition by this departure.”

4. What are they, the Fred Phelps wing?
See, the national group only wants gays to be jailed and blacklisted, while the Alabama chapter favors public stoning.

9. CCA is washed up in state politics: Bushco won, bad for business to be
too much in love with Leviticus and Strom Thurman's ghost.

Their darling, Roy Moore was trounced in the gubernatorial Republican primary this spring for the incumbent, and has no hope beyond his speaking engagements to the Ann Coulter Crowd at Prayer meetings.

Alabama is really serious about getting more auto factories (already have Benz and Nissan and Honda) and to expand the State Docks in Mobile, which is pretty far upriver from the bay and able to handle hurricanes really well.
The aerospace/defense/ computer industry doesn't like the image of the state with the Moorish loud and on TV.

The state has made the graduation requirements for HS so strident that they are among the most impressive in the nation. Alabama, for once is doing some things right. The Governor now is OK, for a Republican, but he isn't a Susan Parker or Jim Folsom,Jr. by any means. Actually the governor has not a lot of power in the state, the speaker of the house and president pro temp of the state senate do, as they cut the lt. gov's power which was traditionally the top job when a Republican won Lt. Governor yet Dems stayed in control of the Legislature some years ago.

I unfortunately like 3 miles as the crow flies inside The Most Serene Christian Republic of Alabama, just a stone throw away from safety in Tennessee should it ever be necessary! Bud Cramer is an utter failure as a Democrat, but he can't be beat with all the aerospace and defense money behind him when the primary comes...

11. If Cramer didn't have that seat
It would go to a Republican for sure. At least Cramer will be one more vote for a Democratic speaker.

Top leaders of the Religious Right, including Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) President James Merritt, were among the crowd at a Jan. 19 "Inaugural Prayer Luncheon for Unity and Renewal" sponsored by an arm of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church.

The Washington, D.C., event was put on the The Washington Times Foundation, a non-profit group founded by Moon. The controversial Korean evangelist, who preaches that he is the new messiah sent by God to complete the failed mission of Jesus, spoke at the event and received an award for his work in support of family values, the Moon-owned Washington Times reported.

The Rev. Billy McCormack, a Christian Coalition board member and long-time Religious Right activist from Louisiana, assisted in presenting Moon with the award.

Other attendees at the event included TV preachers Jerry Falwell, Robert Schuller, Kenneth Copeland and Paul Crouch as well as Don Argue, former president of the National Association of Evangelicals. Former pop star Pat Boone provided entertainment.
