Read this & WEEP if your Will has a "Waiver" giving Body Parts to Science!
Edited on Wed Aug-23-06 07:06 PM by KoKo01
This post describes what the evil "BODY SNATCHERS" are doing when you have that "kindly person" urging you to give your "body to science" in case you die "unexpectedly." You don't even need to have an accident and be young and healthy...the "BODY SNATCHERS" will take your Granny, Auntie and Uncle in their Old Age from the CREMATORIUM! AN ALERT!!! Read what's going ON OUT THERE...IT's a CRINGE READ...but STUFF WE NEED TO KNOW!!!

1. I don't have a problem with this
It's not like it's anything I'm going to need.

surgery...tendon or ligament surgery? What if you were in a Car Crash or your kids or parents or relatives were smashed up and needed "parts" to restore them?

You think this doesn't affect you? Why? What is it that you think you won't need or...will you just elect to refuse it all and urge your relatives and kids to not EVER accept any bone or tissue transplants?

5. The way you framed it was that we should be
outraged at tissue being taken beyond what was freely given. I have no problem with that.

And no, I will never need any tissue transplants. I take that back...I will never be ELIGIBLE for any tissue transplants. So no, it doesn't affect me at all. As for my kids, they are all adults and will have to make their own decisions. I'm no longer in that position.

And if you look at it, most of the 'parts' you're upset about are easily replaced with manufactured replacements.

So no, I'm not going to worry about this.

2. Most of that is BS. I'm not deeply involved with any of that stuff, but
Ihave a close relative who is a transplant recipient, and I'vve even checked into donating my body to scienceupon my death. I knowevery organization I've encountered is quite particular of where their partsare from and the age of the donors for transplant donations, and the body donor Med school I contacted reserves the right to refuse your body.

Do some "body part groups" make mistakes? YES! My relative actually gotcancer of the throat that they traced back to the donor pancreas he received, but it has been in remission now for 4 years, so we'rehopeful all will be fine. Obviously, some test either wwasn't made or the results were missed in his case. His transplant is now 7 years old, he's doing quite well.

I think this story of "body snatchers" is from a movie I saw!!!!!

PBS Host (PBS MASTERPIECE THEATER) Alastair Cook's body who was supposed to be "cremated" by his family but ended up a part of the unscrupulous BODY SNATCHERS of the 21st Century. They take bodies of our family who wished to be Cremated and strip out their bones and put PVC PIPE IN THEIR PLACE...and MAKE HUGE $$$$$$'s off this...

You are Not Concerned? My Mother-in-Law died last year and asked to be cremated. How do I know they didn't sell her body off and put the "ashes from some Multi-Millionaires Fireplace in that URN they buried that we wept over...in her PLACE!!!

We need to be VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS!!!

8. No, but I did see a MOVIE, House I think, that had something like
this in one episode.

You know, I am an organ donor, and I have also made arrangements to be cremeated. I don't really care what they do with my body parts before or afterI croak! If somebody really can benefit from something, take it! I don't care!!!!

Do you really care what happens to your flesh and bones as they rot underground, or are burned in a creamaory furnace???? WHY?

6. I'm an organ donor.
When I renewed my license a few years ago, I checked organ donor. That way I only paid $8 to renew my license. I really don't care what happens to my body parts after I die.

7. BTW...this is a MAJOR problem! If you search on it you will see that
"Body Parts" are a growing "Industry" with the demand. But how they get these parts is not as regulated as one would hope. Think BUSH AMERICA...Think BUSH FDA regulating...

Think about gullible unsuspecting folks who give their bodies to Science and what unscrupulous "Body Snatchers" could make in Profit off this?
