George Dubya Bush and Co.: MISSION DEMOLISHED
Through the gauzy, hyperactive veil of Rovian euphemedia mindscapes-- shifting from dreamy to nightmarish-- overworked, overextended, undercompensated Americans are starting to notice that the payoff for 6 years of RipOfflican rule of all three branches of U.S. government is:

Everything is broken.

On the approaching anniversary of the nationally televised genocide called "Hurrican Katrina hits New Orleans" an "angry" artist documents a version of NOLA reality that is weighted with a heavy dose of truth, real people and actual situations, in what used to be knows as "life."

In response, the Rovey Wonka's ChatterClass Factory produced an ethnic (not black) Good Ole Boy cartoon character in New Orleans, thanking Dubya for a mythical "millions of FEMA trailers that brought people a roof, electricity and TeeVee...................."

MISSION DEMOLISHED.

Kyoto treaty?
Nation building?
Clinton surplus?
Environmental and public safety standards?
9-11?
Hunt for Bin Laden "Dead Or Alive"?
"Cakewalk" in Iraq?
Social safety net?
Armored equipment for soldiers in Iraq?
Benefits for veterans?
"Donut hole" in prescription drug "coverage" for seniors?
Constitutional violations?
Record breaking gas prices AND gas industry profits?
Gutted treasury, no bid Halliburton contracts and taxcuts for MegaSuperRich?
New Orleans, Louisana lynched, gutted and vivisected for more private profit for Bushco. crony capitalists?
COMPLETE obliteration of the American people's sense of suspended disbelief?
"Shock and Awe" tactics inflicted on the U.S. public 25/7?

MISSION DEMOLISHED.

8. Awesome idea....
But how about: "Republicans: Mission Demolished"

(Idea being we have to connect all this failure to the whole Republican party, not just BushCo.)

:)

5. The accomplishment depends on the goal.
* has more than met the goal of his oil cronies, here and abroad.

Otherwise, * has failed everything else miserably.

11. "It is Because I Say it Is"
I believe the lesson for all of us here is: When oil executives, lobbyists, investment bankers, stock brokers, media executives, and other capitalists and their representatives want to take over the Government, I think we know now, they want to destroy it. There is no other plan or intent, and the only relationship any of them wants with us, is to exploit us as workers or "consumers," or to control us with corporate propaganda. Never has the "news" been put through so many filters, as it is now, and there are no further clues as to the problem needed.

As our current Republican-run "Government" is an example of a government run by rich people--no social programs, all tax money seemingly diverted to untraceable corporate bank accounts, no-bid/unfulfilled contracts, mounting debts that they will just "put on the credit card" for the peons to worry about paying later, no issues ever dealt with, but endless smear campaigns directed every way there is to direct, no town meetings, but plenty of mass-produced "framing," etc.--so the current media is an example of a media, formerly "the press," as run by only rich people, for their profit. There is no past, not even an outside, verifiable world out there anymore, only the "mindscape," as you put it, that they present to us; if it is "censored," (a word "we" don't use anymore), then it does not exist. There are not even many things simultaneously anymore--that would be unlike a commercial ad campaign, so it is removed--but only the "one flow." Quick Quiz: Who says the following? "All is One; There is only One." Answers: 1) New Age phonies; 2) The corporate media; 3) An abuser isolating you from the world. Answer: Don't think too much; you analyze too much; after all, all is one, there is only one stream. "The feeling, the PASSION, is what's important, not offensive 'thinking.' " "Ask your Doctor about,...When banks compete, you win...Apply directly to the forehead..."

Eventually, the memory just goes completely, and it becomes a chore to try to think. Easier to remember visual images from the media--and remember, they will never be made to pay for what they have done to the psyches of millions of people exposed to this mind-ripping lack of context, the effects of which they paid millions of dollars to study, and effect. The most important historical events, after which our country will never be the same again, pass by leaving as little remnant in the mind as last week's stupid, unfunny "comedy," or this week's phony "terror alert." If it is true, as it surely is, that when the mind has a few important facts to think about, then develops them by long and quiet thought, it is infinitely better than many, many things thrown at you at once, undigested and unfelt, then you know why the media's "information age" has produced almost nothing but anxiety and multiples of multiples, "all going against me."

Take the example of the recent, completely weird and bizarre coverage of the JonBenet Ramsay murder investigation, and this "suspect" John Mark Karr. The only good thing about this coverage, by the way, is that it has been so strange, so hysterical, so hyped, so overdone, that many people now realize, if they never did before, that you can never think of the media the same way again, never even think of them as "normal," and now any really good media criticism stands a chance of being effective.

The "world" presented by the media is so simplified, so narrowed down, so fixated, where a half-assed, snide remark or accusation is treated with the same "respect" as a well-reasoned argument or a proof, that eventually you either recoil in horror, or go down with it. It isn't even that they censor or slant things anymore--now they directly lie, laugh at people trying to answer things, slander, promote things with no evidence to them, and then no one refers to it ever again, as if, Soviet-like, we do not refer to things that are not allowed. Further, if you turn on TV or radio commentators, there only seem to be about 5 or 6 people in the world, and they talk and talk and talk, yet have no expertise on any given topic. They are never employed as any of the things they pass judgment on. There are all-male panels discussing rape or abortion, stock reports all day, no reports on labor strikes except to whine about the problems it causes to customers--whom they suddenly "care about"--or to tell whether or not there was "violence" from the strikers, (no one researches whether or not the workers even have a contract from management), and only one's side's guests get interrupted or laughed at, as a tactic. Pictures and edits are used for their propaganda value; nothing is spontaneous.

The step-by-step process of the current case is like this: this John Mark Karr claims something that I'm sure many other fantasy-world types have, "I did it," and the media, strangely "prepared," runs off to Thailand, and gets the new, higher prices for sponsors organized. Rather than dismissing it, people should be studying this behavior, because it was really disturbing. Everything was treated as if it had complete credibility, with no proof--like that liar whose name I can't remember who wrote a bestselling book on being a drug addict and recovering, etc., and it was all fiction--and it was all actually hyped, not reported--like a product that you buy. As if, if you just hear it at all--then it was true. They played the almost-porn videos and showed plastic-looking still pictures of the dead child--I thought, God, how depressing, there is not one usable image of that child, she was always so exploited and fake; They said--Oh, what a cute, adorable child. They called her a "six year old beauty queen," and did not even flinch; no one ever stopped and said, "Wait a minute...What the hell...?" No one reported that there were old vaginal injuries as well as new to the child, as that would have killed their whole "ride." They instantly lined up all the guests as soon as the "already guilty" storyline broke, and "oddly," John "Deep Pockets" Ramsay was ready to go with a quote. There is no critical thinking going on here--as if they are under orders not to.

When they all, as a group, the old government as well as the new (global corpoate media), went to get Karr, it was a huge throng like for the Beatles, and all play-acted, by everybody. No one was hostile, there was no seriousness; it was all spotlight, for everyone. Whole huge gaps of information are not being reported on--I just heard today for the first time that there is another Ramsay daughter; I had never heard that before!--so the one or two hyped items can be gone over and over and over, "money-saver," using the same material to death. Tapes are played, unverified as to authenticity; a Ramsay-paid-for "documentary"-maker who has used fake material, and who makes up fake claims of evidence, is suddenly used by media as the main source. Evidence going the way they don't want, is ignored. It is all "Swiftboat" and counter-"Swiftboat" all the time now. The Gulf Coast is not even rebuilt yet? A scandal? "Go shopping"; "You must be a liberal." Blah blah. Made it go away.

Who are they to even refer to the dead victim by her first name?...Are the whole media in a fantasy world that they "know her"?...Step 1, hype it until it isn't paying or bringing in the cash anymore; step 2: "Get out of it." Now we get the next round, where the media pretends not to be the media, but is suddenly a "separate critic," appalled and commenting on the behavior of "those other people." The same commentators come back for a round of "Did the media go too far?" "I am actually ashamed of the media," and other gab, but first these Breaking Stories on Karr, who probably had nothing to do with anything. The scary part is that the media, by exploding everything all over the world as their hype, may have killed any possible prosecution of this case, (as intended?), as they caused the derailing for years of the Atlanta bombing case by "pinning it" on Richard Jewell, who did not do it. It wasn't the FBI that released that name, it was the money-making media, searching for another "star." This creepy Ashleigh Banfield on Court TV, who I swear is a friend of John Ramsay's or appears it--she is such an obstruction--was interviewing Mark Klaas, whose daughter Polly was murdered by a kidnapper-rapist, and she actually asked "What are some of the highlights of (Polly Klaas's) autopsy?"

Then, the next step--the woman-haters come out, and we get "Fuck the dead white bitch." Bigots against women dress their hatred up as a "plea" against "racism," as if by spitting hate at the raped, dead white woman or girl--surely the world's oppressor--they will pretend to further the cause of racial equality! What a mask! Then, the "serious" version of that hate--the "plea" to "pay attention to serious stories, not this." Let's try a slogan, bigots: "Just because it's a white woman or girl, doesn't mean it is 'trivial.' " Now it is revealed that 20% of all cadets at the Citadel report having been raped, and they get no support or help. Is that "trivia," too, or a fun, new opportunity to exploit more white women victims as porn, another angle that will never be explored, because it is real. ...Or it becomes another "I Hate Nancy Grace," where they spit all their hatred of women, this time pretending it is "just this one."

This is very long and rambling, but it seems to me that something has happened here, has changed, and the media has shown itself to be something that has to be studied and faced. It is not like the old days of reporters, and the internet cannot be a replacement for it.
