What a long strange trip it's been.
I've been on the month and a half long road-trip from hell. I've criss-crossed the country three times now, and am currently in some tiny little town in the middle of nowhere that no one has ever even heard of.

I have noticed one thing. Everywhere I go, everyone I talk to, people are tired. They are tired of high gas prices. They are tired of their kids getting shipped off again and again to the Middle East. They are tired of worrying about if they are going to get laid off tomorrow, after watching their family and friends lose their jobs. Mostly, they are sick of how we as a country have fell so far, so fast.

One thing that sticks out in my memory is my trip to Dallas a couple of weeks ago. I had some work to do on a new building, and met with the property managers and owners of the building. My work done by the end of the day, I had a friendly chat about this and that, as I packed up my gear, and tried to get myself psyched up for the 4 hour long flight I had to look forward to first thing in the morning. I didn't initiate the conversation, but they started talking about gas prices, the awful economy, the fact that they just built this large condo complex, and have only met half of their projected sales because everyones broke and can't afford to buy. Stuff I have been getting used to hearing from real estate developers the past couple of years. They then made it clear that they thought this President was the worst they have ever seen. That they thought he was an absolute disgrace, and they can not believe that he got elected to a second term. The reason that it sticks out in my mind, is that this is Dallas. Texas. "The Big D." The state that the Bush's hail from. The last freakin' place in the world I would think that I would hear something like that. Especially from pretty well-to-do property managers, and real estate developers.

Like I said, what a long strange trip it's been.

I hear the same in red state after red state. Tennessee, Mississippi, Arizona. I hear the same sentiment, about the same thing they grumbled about in Texas.

So let me tell you; fuck the polls. Fuck the steaming pile that the corporate media is trying to spoon feed the masses. They got nothing. From what I am seeing as I travel across this country of ours, people are starting to see through the bullshit.

2. "They got nothing?" Au contraire.
They got Diebold. They got felons lists. They got Blackwell.

And they're putting out the bogus polls already that are claiming to show a mysterious resurgence of Puggy popularity.

The signs & omens are there.

9. They have new HAVA mandated electronic voter registration databases.
And, they have the media.

I'm sure the OP is right but, no use underestimating these criminals.

5. Hearing the same here in a very red county in Montana
Most have nothing but contempt for what the neocons/GOP have done to America. Many loudly proclaim they aren't Republicans any more - they do not believe in the shit the GOP/RNC is trying to serve up.

And the GOP is now very busy trying to through people off voter rolls.
They've gone back to stealing elections the old fashioned way: making it easy to disenfranchise whole blocks of voters. They dare not risk honest elections. Once they are thrown out, they go to jail. They will not go peacefully accepting the real will of the people. That was proved in 04

6. I drove to Dallas and back early in July.
I spent 48 hours in Dallas (to see my B/P specialist). I visited The Stewpot (a downtown homeless shelter where I used to do volunteer work). I had a long talk with the director. He said that the shelter is inundated for the free lunch. Record numbers, every day.

It is sad. The shitty-city of Dallas is trying to move the Stew Pot. They want all visible poverty out of sight of the rich, who might be offended by the sight. Meanwhile, more people become indigent because of the Bu$h policies that help make the rich much richer.

10. Let's just hope every one of these complainers gets his or her
hind-end into a voting booth in November and votes these criminals OUT, then turns around in 08 and does it again. All the while demanding paper ballots and verifiable election results.

11. Just remember THEY GOT DIEBOLD, ES&S, and SEQUOIA among others.
Let's hope they don't have another "it's a miracle" election, but don't be surprised if they do.

12. I just had a similar conversation with my mum a few weeks back
Was telling her about how more and more, people seem increasingly hostile - on the roads, in the office, at the store. More restless and impatient than normal. At first I thought, wow, must surely be me, I must be perceiving it that way because of my own frustrations. Thanks for posting this, glad I'm not actually imagining it. :hi:

13. They have MSM, fear, terror, smearing, PR machine, and no conscience.
How else are they still in power after 6 years of lies, crimes, corruption, theft, and incompetence? No easy feat, but they've done it.
