Morning After Pill now OTC, thank you Hillary.
For all the Hillary bashers, remember as you read the news of the FDA's decision to make the Morning After Pill over the counter for all woman over 18, it was Senators Clinton and Murray who kept the pressure on.

2. Livid? In other words, they want more abortions? ANY form of birth c
control leads to less abortions.

22. And they are STUPID because
for every fertilized egg that might not attach to the uterous- there are probably dozens more that never become fertilized- and so don't end up as unwanted pregancies and abortions.

But, as we know- you can't talk sense to irrational people.

4. White house and "social conservatives"
not happy. Yeah, I can see that. I'll miss all those sad faced, overstressed teenage girls pushing prams too. :sarcasm:

It was NARAL and Planned Parenthood that kept the pressure on, not Hillary.

you are correct on who gets the accolades on this.

My hubby, who is VERY aware and informed on women's issues...not because I tell him, but because he uses common sense...called ME when this news broke to let me know about this giant victory for women.

Now, let's see how much they CHARGE for it.

Planned Parenthood's statement on this issue said:

"Please take a moment to thank Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Patty Murray (D-WA), for their indispensable leadership on this issue."

Editing to add: I don't have a link for this. It was part of the email I rec'd from PP regarding the matter.

21. Indeed it did.
However, to insinuate that Clinton is the ONLY one to thank in this is asinine.
There are thousands of grassroots volunteers who made this their mission.
The petitions that were signed, the organization that NARAL and PP put into this to make it happen.
This happened because the PEOPLE wanted it to happen, however, I will give kudos to Clinton and Murray for lending their names to this.

8. She's pretty good. It's a shame she sells us out to the right on occasion.
The DLC strategy of pulling the party to the right has done nothing but lose us the last three major elections, and staying the course at this point is simply unforgivable.

10. Only Santorum gets more donations from pharmaceuticals.
As of July 12, 2006, she raised more money from pharmaceuticals than any other candidate with the exception of Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.).

Hillary supports women's reproductive rights only because there's supposedly a corporate kickback?!?

16. Supposedly? Not a kickback - it's a PrePay. It's convenient for her, the
issue appears to be democratic, however her support swings to the drug companies. She's simply hoping you don't notice that aspect. These companies support her and her corporatist agenda for good reason -- she votes for them. Hillary is a CORPORATIST first and foremost. The corporatist agenda is what is at the heart of what is the matter with the country today. It is a REPUBLICAN agenda dressed in a "D" label and attempting to pass itself off as Centerist when in reality it is a far right agenda.

PLEASE don't accept the Morning After Pill tossed your way while Hillary still supports the war, supports free trade agreements and is for the death penalty. She supported the 2001 bankruptcy bill, and has never been for single-payer health insurance and has worked hard to undermine a host of other progressive positions. And...my personal pet peeve, Clinton supports the notion (publicly on a TV news interview alongside Bill Frist) that we should all be chipped. That's right RFID chips, just like dogs, with our medical information...or WHATEVER else may eventually be convenient.

IBM has already applied for the patent which will allow scanners in public that can read what's in your wallet: cell phone lists, PDA's, you name it. IBM's Patent Application, "Identification and tracking of persons using RFID-tagged items". The patent describes how people can be tracked and identified through RFID-tagged items they own, wear, and carry. Clinton's move to have us chipped for "medical reasons" is total bullshit.

Download IBM's patent application in PDF format through this site:
http://www.spychips.com/documents/patent-info.html

That is a progressive agenda...progressive for corporations not for people.

I really think women should see a doctor before taking this drug, to rule out any health issues that could complicate things.
