Elizabeth Dole Defends Montana's Burns
WASHINGTON -- North Carolina Sen. Elizabeth Dole, on the campaign trail Wednesday in Montana, defended Republican Sen. Conrad Burns' recent comments about immigrants and said that voting him out of office would be a "disaster."

Dole, who is head of Senate Republicans' campaign arm, was in Missoula raising money and attending public events with Burns, who is in a tight race for re-election against Democrat Jon Tester.

Tester's campaign this week released video of Burns referring to his house painter as "a nice little Guatemalan man" and suggested that worker as well as employees of a roofing company he hired might be in the country illegally. Burns campaign said the worker is a legal citizen and the senator never doubted that. They also said the worker, Hugo Reyes, is small in stature.

In a telephone interview, Dole called the flap over Burns' comments "a silly thing."

cont'd...

2. How I hate her...
Her office will not respond to my letters anymore - guess I'm on her "File (throw) Away" list. She hasn't done shit for North Carolina and I can't wait for her to get hers when the RNC finally realizes she hasn't done her job as their main fundraiser - perhaps that it a good thing.

15. I did get a surprising letter back
from Burr about Stem Cell research - he is for it, unbelievable, and pretty much the letter expressed his displeasure over the veto. He did, however, make the point that he's "pro-life"...I long for the days of John Edwards. Thank God Easley a Dem!

12. After awhile, she will respond with a form letter
that has nothing to do with what you inquired about. The situation with our two senators is the worst it's ever been. I miss the days of one dem and one repuke senator. Now we have two extremists.

13. She'll respond - three months later & with a form letter
I cannot stand to speak with her office folks. They are the most rude people I've spoken with out of every Senator's office. At least Burr's office personnel are a bit nicer. They are clueless but nicer than dole's folks.

Dole is a rubber-stamper and follows lockstep with *. She's a lousy Senator and I cannot wait until the voters here get rid of her.

3. I have something I'd like to say to Elizabeth Dole.
In the wise words of Dick Cheney, "Fuck yourself."

I guess George Bush lying to Americans about WMDs in Iraq is also a "silly thing."

And, no doubt, so is the Republican's irresponsible handling of our finances.

And the outing of a CIA agent for political gain.

And the squandering of our natural resources.

And the selling of our country to foreign governments.

And setting up dictators in foreign lands, only to have them become our enemy down the road (like the Shah of Iran, Saddam Hussein, etc.)

And legalizing discrimination of fellow Americans because of their sexual preference.

And all the other legions of bullshit you nasty M*therf*cking Republicans come up with.

Yes indeed, Elizabeth - PLEASE - go "Fuck yourself."

4. Too bad we never see her here in NC...
Of course, she hasn't lived here since she graduated from college way back in the 30's or whenever it was! Liddy Dole is nothing but a right wing tool - and a crappy one at that.

Gawd, I pray we can put someone up against her and kick her ass out in 08.

6. On second thought, let us not debate this; 'tis a silly thing
Just like the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and constitutional amendments to ban gay marriage, and constitutional amendments to ban flag burning, and "saving" Terri Schiavo, and ignoring PDBs, and invading countries without cause or provocation, and not increasing the minimum wage, and another round of tax cuts for the overrich, and the ballooning federal deficit, and letting Big Pharma write the Medicare prescription drug coverage laws, and "privatizing" Social Security, and saving Paris Hilton's full inheritance, and selling our environment off to the highest bidding polluter, and . . .

My goodness! there's just no end to the silliness is there, Lizzie?
