Poll question: What should Bush do when (if) his term ends? |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-24-06 02:21 PM by Cyrano
Well, if you're still alive, you gotta do something.
Nixon became a (wannabe) senior statesman.
Gerald Ford pardoned a prez who was "... not a crook."
Jimmy Carter builds homes for Habitat for Humanity. (What a great man.)
Saint Ronnie rode one more horse for the Gipper.
Daddy Bush has tried to stay out of Bab's way.
Bill Clinton has become a "How to become prez" coach.
So what do you think Junior should do?

Although I don't like many sports I find baseball particularly boring. If Bush destroyed the so called "national pastime" the Republican party would lose the support of many annoying George Will baseball nuts.

40. Well, the good news is he'll screw up the Carlyle Group the same |
|
way he's screwed up everything else he was ever associated with.
At best, he'll destroy Poppy, James Baker and all the other thugs who profit from the Carlyle criminal empire.
At worst, he'll give them all ulcers.
Either way, he'll (hopefully) bring misery to people who have contributed to so much human misery for their own profit.

and give up the cowboy pretence. He's only been there since 2000 - not like he's ever been a rich rancher.
My prediction: in January 2009 he'll take off for one last trip to Crawford with lots of fanfare and press, then quietly take off for some enclave in Florida, Kennebunkport, Dallas or Houston (my order of probability). In 2010 or 11 the "ranch" will be sold to some diehard Bush supporter, and George will never have to act macho again.
Unless Prez Jeb gives him the plum ambassador position to Saudi Arabia.

I'd really like to hear your reason (assuming it wasn't sarcasm). My guess is that you think he might be redeemable, but I don't know.
If you were serious, post your reason. Yeah, there are many who will crap all over you, but be a "majority of one." As for those who might demean your vote, it will reflect negatively on them, not you.
