Ned Lamont on Katrina, Lieberman, Brownie and more
http://lamontblog.blogspot.com/2006/08/ned-on-katrina.html

(Bumped.) Tonight, Ned will be speaking at a book launch event in NYC for "It Takes A Nation," a soon-to-be-released collection of first-person accounts of some of those affected by Hurricane Katrina, with proceeds from the event and book sales going to rebuilding efforts in New Orleans. Ned is also coming out swinging against Sen. Lieberman about the infamous 42-minute rubber-stamp hearing he gave to ex-FEMA Director Michael Brown as Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee in 2002, as well as the senator's role in folding FEMA under DHS:

1. I'm still not convinced about Lamont
He talks good, but previous actions make me wonder if he'll be a DINO.

3. More Of A Dino Than Lieberman?
So, you would rather have someone who is basically running as and being supported by the repub party?

If you're actually worried that he's farther to the right than Lieberman, you haven't been paying attention to anything I guess.

4. His 80% voting record with Republicans is what bothers me
He voted with them most of the time when he was on the Greenwich Board of Selectmen. Lieberman has never voted with Republicans that much in his career.

6. Unfortunately that shows you haven't really been paying attention

He voted 80% of the time as a selectman. A TOWN selectman. There are no national issues like Iraq, National Healthcare, or Civil Liberties to fight for as a selectman. It's all about building new roiads, property taxes, and courting business to town. I suspect almost all selectmen around here vote 80% of the time with both parties. It's just misleading is all. He wasn't a senator or congressman.
