Do some people actually want civil war in Iraq? |
|
I heard someone say today that if the US pulled out of Iraq and civil war ensued, all the Moslem countries in the Middle East would become involved as they chose up sides with Sunnis and Shiites. It occurred to me that this might work out very well for some people waiting to buy oil and sell arms. It might even take the focus off of us as the great Satan. Comments?

1. If there's money to be made, of course |

Iran would love it, they'd go for the southern areas they think are theirs anyway. Kuwait AND Bahrain would shit bricks. So would the Saudis--they'd have to really concern themselves with their military might to repel any invasions AND internal dissent--a tough tightrope. The Kurds would be all over everything as far south, north and west to Kirkuk as they could grab in the confusion, and the Sunnis....well, they'd be fucked without outside help. The Turks would likely jump in to constrain the Kurds...and it could light off into WWThree very easily.
That's just off the top of my head...there are many more actors with interest, as well.
Way ta go, MonkeyPrez!
