Regular petrol is down to $2.65/g in upstate SC. Premium is $2.75. |

The paper says it's going lower. What is it where you are?

1. N. Suburban Chicago: $3.05 |
|
That's the cheapest I've seen for regular. Most of the stations are charging ten cents more, and in the city, probably 20 cents more. It's gone down quite a bit all of a sudden--it had been around $3.30 at my "cheap" stations.

I live on the NE side of Columbus and I haven't seen it that low. Maybe cheaper gas is coming my way too.

7. Prediction: It'll be $2 by election day. |
|
Regardless of the outcome, it'll go back up though. Slowly if the republicans steal another election, $3 overnight if the democrats take one house, $5 overnight if they take both.

16. 3.10 in CT...but if I drive half an hour up the road, it's 2.85 in Mass. |
|
Go figure. Don't tell me it's the taxes, because three weeks ago Massachusetts and CT were roughly on par. In fact, CT used to have the highest gas prices in the continental U.S., that is, until this current "crisis." Suddenly, CT was about the same price as every neighboring state (you non-New Englanders may not have a concept of being able to visit 6 states in one day, and still make it home for dinner). But now that the prices have dropped precipitously, almost overnight, CT is now back to being obscenely expensive and out-of-whack with neighboring states.
