Hey guys,
Today is my birthday. I'm 23. I got three really cool books from my parents today, "Conservatives Without Conscience" by John Dean, "The Case For Impeachment: The Legal Argument For Removing President George W. Bush From Office" by Dave Lindorff and Barbara Olshansky and "The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About The Bush Administration And 9/11" by David Ray Griffin.
I've really got my mom on the impeachment bandwagon. She wants to join every impeachment organization that's out there. She said not that long ago,"The Democrats better win back both houses of Congress and impeach that motherfucker!" Ha! :)
At first I had a hard time convincing her and my dad that the 2004 election was stolen, but now that they've seen more evidence and now that they read the RFK Jr. article and saw him talking about it on CNN, they're totally convinced now that Bush was selected twice and not elected. They are all over the election fraud issue now.
For a while, I was kind of hesitant about approaching my parents with the idea that the government lied about the way 9/11 happened or that it might have been an inside job. I thought they would just say I shouldn't read conspiracy theories. I then started to feel I was doing the wrong thing by staying silent about. I kind of felt complicit like the people in our government. But when Charlie Sheen stated publicly that he questioned the official story of events by the government, I thought it would be the right time to come out and show them the evidence since some of it was coming out into the mainstream press. I showed my mom the videos and articles about what Charlie Sheen said. She couldn't deny that the stuff Sheen was pointing to was strange indeed. I later showed her a petition by Scholars for 9/11 Truth to Congress calling for release of 9/11 evidence. Then I read her some paragraphs out of "Crossing the Rubicon" by Mike Ruppert, I showed her videos of David Ray Griffin and some articles on Sibel Edmonds and other evidence and then she started to say, "The Bush Administration is so corrupt, at this point I'd believe anything." I read her a few paragraphs out of "The New Pearl Harbor" this evening about the WTC and Building 7 and the attack on the Pentagon and she started having flashbacks to 9/11 when she was at work and a TV was on and she saw that a plane hit the first tower. Everybody on TV thought it was an accident at first. Then she saw the second plane hit the second tower and she knew that we were under attack. I then read her a little bit about the timing of the planes hitting the buildings and the timing of their collapse. I also showed her some of that evidence that bombs might have helped bring down the buildings. She then said, "You know what, that really doesn't make any sense now that I think about it. I know the heat inside was really intense but how would it cause them to collapse in that short of time?" I showed her some of the evidence surrounding WTC 7. It was two blocks away. Nothing hit it all. And then later it all of a sudden came down like a demolition. I then mentioned to her that Giuliani and Kerik were in one of the buildings across the street the from the WTC and Giuliani said on TV that they had to rush to get out of the building because they knew the WTC was going to collapse. I mentioned how people on the blogosphere started asking, "How did Giuliani know the building was going to collapse?" Because nobody else at the time had any idea that they were going to come down.
Finally, it hit her.
"You know what, I'm really starting to believe these conspiracy theories now. It couldn't have happened the way they told us. I now think Bush is THAT evil. Those bastards! I bet this whole thing was planned."
My dad is still in denial about it. I can understand it's hard to believe that our government would ever do something like that to us. But once I let him read some of these books and show him more of these videos on the Internet, I think he'll eventually come around. I was able to convince my mom. I was hesitant at first, but I took it little bit at a time and she's awake now. I hope I'm able to do the same with my dad.
Peace,
IL
:)
