Al Qaeda waited until Buffoon Bush and rePUKES were in power to strike
They planned 9/11 for years before deciding to strike on 9/11. They knew Bush dropped the ball and NOBODY in that rePUKE administration had an eye on terrorism, despite Clinton's warnings.

1. Well Actually...
Remember the bombing of the World Trade Center? Or the USS Cole? Those happened under Clinton.

(Clinton promptly responded by bombing an aspirin factory, lobbing a few cruise missiles, and taking mucho shekels from the Chinese...)

4. And Bush responded how? By saying he wasn't that concerned about
Edited on Thu Aug-24-06 11:14 PM by gully
Osama Bin Laden just a few months after 911, taking the nation into a senseless/costly war in Iraq, increasing terrorism/terrorist sympathy/terrorist recruitment around the world, allowing Iran to get closer to a nuclear bomb, allowing North Korea to do the same, allowing OBL to escape into Pakistan while not doing a damn thing about it and, he spent us into oblivion in the process!

Give me an flattened "aspirin factory" (which likely contained the "missing" WMD) any day of the week over this crap.

I guarantee you, that YOU slept better when Bill Clinton was in office, as did every other American.

5. Oh Definitely
Oh Bush is way worse than Slick. But Slick was awful also - he continued Reagan's epic attack on the Middle Class in order to get a few shekels from the Predator Class.

It's perfectly OK to believe that while one was worse than the other, they were both awful. We don't have to have presidents that ignore terrorists, or presidents that screw up everything. We can have good presidents, if We The People want them - that's the miracle of our Constitution. We have the power - if we want it. If we don't take responsibility, we get Slick and King George.

6. I disagree with you about Bill Clinton.

He was a fantastic president with many accomplishments.

Here's a refresher -

Who did you vote for in recent elections?

7. Fantastic?
Oy. I guess we'll disagree...

Who have I voted for? In this bluest of blue states, I've voted for Barney Frank, John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy. Barney and John seem to have had a personality transplant recently - Barney's turning into a DLCer while Kerry is starting to swing at the ball a little. Our gubernatorial race is irritating - the three Dems running in the primary are all non-optimal. But governors in Mass. have very little actual power.

I'm glad you support Kennedy and Kerry, they very much deserve it.

11. ok you don`t like clinton
but the facts are the aspirin factory was producing chemicals and was owned by bin boys front company. the cruise missles sent bin boy surrying into his cave for awhile. they were sent to send him a warnng not to fuck around with the big dog.the first trade center bombing guys were thrown into prison without overthrowing our freedoms. the chinese "shekels" started with nixon and is still going on today.the cole was not his responsibilty.you should read more about the cole bombing before you "blame him"

17. And what did Bush do about the USS Cole?
nothing.

Actually, worse than nothing- he stopped the drones and surviellance of bin Laden in Afghanistan, whereas Clinton had ships in the Indian Ocean with cruise missiles ready to strike if he was spotted.
Do you know you are repeating FALSE right wing talking points?

19. More about the USS Cole
The USS Cole bombing occurred one month before the 2000 presidential election, so even under the best of circumstances it was unlikely that the investigation could have been completed before the end of President Clinton's term of office three months later.

http://www.snopes.com/rumors/clinton.htm

Once the investigation was completed, then-President Bush was told by the CIA that bin Laden was behind the attack. Why didn't Junior retaliate? According to Condi Rice, The Decider was tired of "swatting flies", even though he hadn't swatting any. But a more revealing answer was provided by Richard Clarke's testimony before the 911 Commission:

I suggested, beginning in January of 2001, that ... there was an open issue which should be decided about whether or not the Bush administration should retaliate for the Cole attack .

Unfortunately, there was no interest, no acceptance of that proposition. And I was told on a couple of occasions, "Well, you know, that happened on the Clinton administration's watch."

I didn't think it made any difference. I thought the Bush administration, now that it had the CIA saying it was al Qaeda, should have responded.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/08/clarke.rice/index.html

So exhibiting the mentality of a selfish 8 year old, Junior didn't see any reason to retaliate because he was asleep at the wheel, and also because that was an attack against Clinton's America, not his America. Thoroughly disgusting, to say the least.

18. Way to repeat the right-wing talking points buddy
Keep in mind that Clinton had been in office for only a month when the first trade center bombing happened.
I'm not aware of any presidential briefings regarding "bin laden determined to attack military ships in persian gulf". Furthermore, the low-level security functions regarding protection of a military ship in a foreign port has absolutely nothing to do with the president and everything to do with the local military and intelligence officials.

12. Hi, new poster here...I'll just jump in...
There’s this organization named PNAC (Project for the New American Century). It’s pushes neo-cons’ foreign policy’s and is financed by energy and defense companies. PNAC was put together by Cheney in the 90’s. It’s all about America ruling the world (honestly). ...I read recently that PNAC published RAD (Rebuilding America’s Defense) in September 2000. RAD was a 90 page document explaining PNAC‘s plan for regime changes in unfavorable governments. ...Like I said, this was published in September 2000. I once read that the hijackers started flight school a year prior to September 11, 2001; that would mean all plans for 9-11 were put into motion after RAD came out and right after GW accepted his candidacy at the Republican Nation Convention.

:hi:

Most of the regulars here are already familiar with PNAC, but reminders are nice now and again too. Keep on reading, thinking, and posting :-)

13. kinda like when the Iranians waited till Ronny to release the hostages
only different. One might infer the same message (inverted) though about the administration they did choose to interact with.

I'm sure being compared to the Carter administration wouldn't be taken as a complement by the current Resident and hangers-on.
