Help....The lady was registering people |
|
in front of King Soopers while I was petitioning. She was approached by a woman that wanted to register ( never had before) and she asked the lady hat party affiliation, the other lady said I don't know anything about politics. The lady(self-identified republican) said "welllllllll, the democrats are the party of big taxes"
What should I do? Have no idea who she is or who sent her to the store

1. Perhaps the local board of elections? |
|
They were dealing with complaints of this sort 'round these parts in 2004.

I will call tomorrow. It makes no sense to get the store/mgr involved. They are nice enough to let us petition. They even allow the Scientology people to set up a table!

2. Go to the store manager and tell him/her |
|
No voter registration person should be pushing party affliation on applicants. The manager should remove the person from the store.

5. Whether a person registering voters can influence the voters |
|
depends on the state. It is OK in California, but it used to be prohibited in Arizona.

|
..and you are absolutely right! It's protected under 1st amendment to say what ever you want when registering people. NOW, what do we do? This is sooooooooooooooo wrong. I want to cry.

6. Sounds like one of Sproul's people |
|
They're the bunch who were caught red handed destroying voting registration forms marked "Democratic," a FELONY, but were never prosecuted for it.
Just lying is small potatoes compared to what those thugs usually do.

http://www.townhall.com/News/NewsArticle.aspx?contentGUID=500b9388-a5ee-4758-86db-65999143df38Google Sproul Liberty. It was quite a scandal in 2004, but like all GOP scandals, it was hushed up and stonewalled and went nowhere.

18. King Soopers, now I'm all nostalgic. |
|
Anyway IMO, you should walk right up and call her on her bullshit, give the lady the real story as you know it, and invite her to ask questions. If it was me, I'd also hang around the first lady as long as I could to provide the opposition opinion. Then I'd get on the phone to the local Democratic Party HQ and urge them to get one of their own down there ASAP.
