After A Few Tough Questions, Ann Coulter Walks Off Hannity & Colmes
"Ann Coulter, who specializes in vitriol toward others, was so flustered by a few tough questions on Hannity & Colmes last night (8/24/06), that she left the interview.

Kirsten Powers, substituting for Alan Colmes, pressed Coulter over remarks she made during the first of a two-part discussion on the effect of the war in Iraq in the upcoming elections. During that segment, Coulter let forth a stream of her trademark invective: “(Democrats) consider it unfair to talk about national security… What part of the war on terrorism do they support?... (Terrorists) would be much happier with the policies of the Democrats.” That part of the discussion is available on FOX News’ website.

After the break, Powers confronted Coulter on those accusations, starting with questions about why the Bush Administration hasn’t caught Osama bin Laden. Coulter was obviously flummoxed and gave the ridiculous answer that the war in Afghanistan is going so swimmingly that bin Laden has become irrelevant. From Coulter’s point of view, it went downhill from there. Powers, whom I have criticized in the past for her ineptitude as a pundit, was in top form and refused to let Coulter off the hook. Powers continued pressing her case and Coulter soon crumbled. The woman who loves to dish it out, couldn’t take the heat. It’s worth noting that Powers never resorted to anything like the sort of diatribe Coulter doesn’t leave home without. Nevertheless, Coulter couldn’t finish the interview."

1. Well, we won't be seeing Kirsten Powers on FAUX anymore
but I hope some of the other pundits and Dem talking heads learned something from this. If you stand up to these assholes they'll run away.

2. OH, now I see. NOW, bin laden is irrelevant
rove must have sent ann out to try out that latest talking point to see if it will float. Of course the bush base will accept anything that comes out of the things mouth; like the "turd" in the pool in caddy shack.

Poor ann, must have been getting the shakes from the need for some chemical her body needs. What a great "christian" example!

3. Anyone who even suggests that Afghanistan is going "swimmingly"
deserves to have their head hotwaxed.

She asked for it - she got it.

4. my question is:
why didn't Hannity come to Coulter's rescue?

I watched the clip, and he was mostly silent.

6. Walking off, or threatening to walk off, is a Coulter trademark...
Evidenced by her appearance at the University of Kansas last year:

Heckling, standing ovations interrupt right-wing commentator

By Mike Belt (Contact)

Wednesday, March 30, 2005

Coulter received several standing ovations during her speech, but she also found herself interrupted several times by a small, scattered group of hecklers.

"I think there are some people in the audience who meant to be at the sexual reorientation class down the hall," Coulter said, in response to the heckling.

Moments later Coulter stopped and called for assistance from students when hecklers started in again and no one of authority was seen trying to stop them.

"Could 10 of the largest College Republicans start walking up and down the aisles and start removing anyone shouting?" Coulter asked. "Otherwise, this lecture is over."

Several people responded, leaving their seats to confront the hecklers, and verbal confrontations erupted in parts of the auditorium. One of those who answered Coulter's call was Michael Conner, a Shawnee freshman.

7. Only a traitor would say "it's irrelevant" to allow someone who caused...
...the murder of 3,000 Americans to continue walking free. I mean, really, if he were to sit on his hands and do nothing the rest of his life, how can you say it's OK to just forget about him???

And she has the nerve to besmirch the patriotism of others.
