Hackett: "They're doing it again"...in Ohio. Helps Sherrod Brown.
http://www.blogforamerica.com/archives/008255.html

"In my home state of Ohio, Republican Ohio Senator Mike DeWine released a TV ad with slimy attacks on Democrat Sherrod Brown's record on national security. The ads are flat out false. While Sherrod has stood up to the administration on things like the war in Iraq, he has always fought to protect our troops, to make sure our first responders have the tools they need in an emergency, to tighten our borders, and fix the problems in homeland security that Republicans have allowed to still exist five years after 9/11. But we don't have to take it lying down. We can help Sherrod Brown fight back:

Thousands of you supported my campaign for Congress last year. I saw how the DFA community can change a race when we stand together. I am writing you to ask for your support for Sherrod Brown, Democratic Candidate for US Senate in Ohio.

As an Iraq War veteran, I know what fighting for America's security means. Sherrod Brown opposed the war in Iraq from the start. Since the invasion, he's successfully lobbied to get body armor for our servicemen and women and he's held the Administration accountable for the $8 billion it spends on Iraq every month. We need leaders like Sherrod Brown who will bring real security to Ohio communities.

Republicans are going to come after Sherrod with their typical lies and false negative tactics. We need to strike fast and hard with the truth. This is a critical race that we can win, but only if we help Sherrod Brown back against Republican attacks. Can you chip in $25 to help make it happen?" Click here to contribute today:

1. Hackett has really redeemed himself lately.
I feel bad for some of the things I said about him in the past. It took him awhile, but it's nice to see him supporting Brown, and actually defending him on Hardball and shows like that.

2. I know how you feel.
I think a lot of us felt the same way.

He is just himself, and not always politically correct.

3. Hackett had no need to redeem himself -- Brown did.
Hackett has continued to act responsibly, in this case supporting the guy who stabbed him in the back because the true enemy is so much worse.

4. He was right to feel burned.
I know, from personal experience, the tactics that the DCCC and DSCC use and used on Hackett. But he is a smart man and knows the stakes this November. He is also showing himself to be a hell of a team player.

Paul Hackett will not be dissapearing from the public eye, or, I predict, public service. He is presently engaged in his graduate education.

I predict his final exam scores will be sterling.

Hackett is a good man, but needs some seasoning. As an officer, a gentleman, and a democrat he is coming through for us.:patriot:

6. His seasoning process is coming along quite well
Hackett's Hardball statement of support for Brown was strong and w/o qualifications. Hackett's Hardball appearence on whole was so strong that the following day Chris kind of bragged on Hackett, practically glowing when he said positive and respectful things about Hackett.

Hackett, for sure, is going to be a powerful Democratic weapon.

7. Hackett setting an example for Lieberman to follow.
This is exactly what Lieberman should do. It was no easier for Hackett to do this than it would be for Lieberman to do the right thing as well.

Maybe he will.
