You Gotta Admit. So Far They Have Managed It Perfectly.
They're keeping the masses very controlled. They've gotten so much mileage out of 9-11, that they haven't had to hit us with another attack to keep us in line. The color codes were good enough to get most of our rights away from us.

When the color codes began to wear off, they managed to keep the masses in fear by announcing the thwarting of attacks. Thank god. That oughta work for quite sometime, I think, as they continue to strip away.

I tremble to think when the thwarted attacks are no longer enough to keep the masses quiet.

They have been able to strip away all that is bedrock about America just with bullshit, so far.

Imagine what they can do if they hit us again. That's their ace in the hole.

Democracy? I don't think so. Not any more.

22. We did have another attack. The AnnThrax attacks.
They still have not found the anthrax killer who also sent anthrax laden letters to 2 Democratic Senators.

Not a single Republican official got sent any anthrax.

3. I hope you are wrong. I fear you are right.
Evidence indicates, sadly, that you are right.

I have been saying, just one more "terrorist" attack (God Forbid) before the camps open and the Penultimate Phase begins.

Especially if it's a NBC (God Forbid) attack.

But, Solomon, there is always hope. This thing is still an undone deal, and will not be until the Penultimate Phase begins in earnest.

This is still maybe as early as Early-Middle Transition Phase. Think Rome, not Nazi Germany (I hope).

My point is, while it's still not a done deal, there is still a ray of hope, no matter how small.

Stand up for it.

5. Yeah, well, that's why the people have the option to pull the plug
on Bush's continued powers in 2006 elections rendering this traitor president the lame duck he is. Cheney will quit after 06 elections enable a Dem house and/or senate which would also give him no political power so the DICK will cop out to "health issue" and fade back to the mountains.

25. "They" obviously hadn't figured on Abramoff-Delay scandals to surface,
CIA Boss Porter Goss resigns "effective immediaely"? Iraq is in civil war, at least 2500 more Marines needed to go back to Iraq? - How bad is it over in Iraq when 300 national gurdsmen return home to Alaska only to be informed that all 300 hundred would be returning to Iraq ASAP...

They only managed to bullshit the American people about WMD's (the rest of the world wasn't buying it) to invade Iraq for a permanent US. presence, even Condi said last week' "it's time for a new middle east"

6. I don't believe another attack would be good for them before the election.
Then it would show they are weak on terror.

It would be good for them if the Dems take back the House and Senate, though. Proves that the terrorists want Dems to win.

So we have approximately 2-3 months to relax.

11. Sigh. Fear trumps everything my friend. Time tested tactic from before
Julius Caesar.

The matter is in their hands. If they want to further violate the constitution and postpone a certain election, for example, they can do it, and nobody will do a damn thing about it, because fear will make people actually demand it, not fight it.

18. True, but fear will also motivate people to find someone they can trust to
keep them safe. Allowing another attack will make that definitely not Bushco.

9. When has the US ever been a democracy?
Granted things are a mess right now, but a little historical perspective indicates that they've been a mess before & yet there has been progress over the past 200 years.
Brown v. Topeka was only 50 years ago for example.
These things go in cycles.
We're in the midst of an intense retrogression right now, but doesn't mean that we won't be able to get back on track if people persevere.

10. I think "Perfectly" is an overstatement
they've been a bunch of bungling fools and most of their actions are totally transparent.

That being said...they have certainly lost nothing betting on the average level of stupidity, ignorance, and apathy among the general public.

We live in a culture that has bought out Democracy with DVDs, SUVs and McDonalds. A little theater on TV and it isn't that people can't figure it out...it is that they just don't care.

You don't have to be perfect to play that game...just rich and ruthless.

12. Ahhh but that's the irony of it. I don't think they mind being thought of
as bumbling idiots while they go about ACHIEVING EVERY DAMN THING THEY SET OUT TO DO.

I don't think perfectly is an overstatement at all. They have made themselves rich beyond their wildest dreams. Looks like a slam dunk to me.

13. And what are we going to do about it?
I hate to say it, but it seems that most people here do far more talking and far less action. Until you've spent hours protesting and preparing for the inevitible revolution, what right do you have to complain? If the freedom-loving peoples of the world rise up together with one voice we would all be heard. We could all say no to the PNAC/AIPAC/Fascist dictators, say no to their blatant rascism and oppression, and say no to the hate that surrounds them. Instead, most of us sit in front of a screen and complain about it.

*This wasn't directed at anyone personally...just a rant...*

17. Is another attack their ace in the hole? They run on keeping us safe
allowing another attack loses them that rather major advertising scheme.
I doubt people will continue to buy the big lie with a second attack. I am just hoping their focus groups are saying the same.

20. Does it matter what the people think?
What? Is all of America going to rise up in the streets and risk imprisonment, risk looking like lunatics, risk looking like Democrats, like "the loony left"? Risk losing their jobs, losing friends and family, losing the respect that comes from being "calm and balanced" that comes from speaking in muted professional tones?

And if we all took to the streets, would the media cover it? Would they ignore it? Or spin it? Could we ever gain critical mass?

Are "the people" going to rise up and stop them? The same people who watch American Idol and Fox News? How do you stop a fascist regime from the inside? Germany didn't do it. We have no counterrevolutionary leftist forces to do battle with the rightists. Who is going to stop them?

No one is going to stop them. As bad as we all think this is, it is only going to get worse.

We need the media on cable, broadcast and AAR radio- that get the truth out. If we get our own media we have a chance at getting our democracy back.
