Where in the world is Laura Bush?
Hubby and Jenna are in Kennebunkport. Last I saw of Laura was walking out to the helicopter to go to Camp David, I think last weekend? Haven't seen hide nor hair of her since. She isn't in any of the most recent vacation photos.

Rumor has it that the first marriage is on the line. One could hardly blame Laura for wanting to rid herself of the parasitic husband she has, but I don't give her that much credit. Once you murder someone, you tend to lose touch with your standards.

Did Laura just stay home at The Mayflower instead of putting up a brave front for the photographers?

I know this query is scraping bottom, but at least it beats discussing the latest news about JonBenet's alleged killer.

3. I wonder where she is, but it must be nice to never have
made a mistake in your youth. I made plenty, and find the subject of 'murder' a bit repulsive. There's plenty more you can accuse her of, like abhorrent taste in men.

13. You may call it what you like, but to me it's murder.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/laura.asp

From what I've read at the link above and elsewhere, there is really no logical explanation for the crash. No failed brakes. She had a new car. She had to have been aiming straight for him given the conditions at the time and place of the accident.

Call it what you like, but in my book causing the death of someone else is a bit more serious than a 'mistake in your youth'.

14. I just remember all the kids who died in my youth on and
around prom night. Kids drove stupidly, drank or smoked pot or whatever, and shit happened. I cannot claim to not like the stepford wife for her past, it's the present that I can't stand including the moron she married.

27. Laura is defined somewhat by her husband, who she has stood
beside and supported all these years. The man is arrogant, self centered, has little to no compassion, no respect for other people, and I have to wonder how much of a victim Laura is. She tolerated his drinking, drug abuse, his staying out all night long doing who knows what with other women and/or men, and I certainly don't see her as being a timid, abused wife.

In fact, I think Laura may be one of the few people on Earth that could actually back ole George into the corner, and give him a good talking to. No, I don't see her as a put-upon wife in any way. And she is smart enough to support herself without George, so there's nothing to indicate she couldn't leave if she didn't want to.

And I wonder how she could tolerate such a man all these years. The death and destruction he's brought to the world. The shady deals that have cost others money, and put them out on the street. What kind of a woman would stand beside a man who would do such things? The kind of woman who is cut from the same cloth as her husband, that's what kind of woman.

So that's why I don't believe the accident theory in Miss Welch's history. It was a clear night, no rain, no slick streets, no brake failures, and she just didn't see the car coming, nor did she recall that there was a stop sign ahead. At an intersection she must have been through hundreds of times in her life, if not thousands. And there is the nagging rumor that the boy she killed had dumped her for another. We know George wouldn't stand for that, and I think Laura likely did not, either.

We may never know the truth, but when you look at the man she's married to, and has supported all these years, I have to wonder how decent of a woman Laura Bush really is. I also recall her behavior at Coretta Scott King's funeral. Not the look or actions of a decent, caring, loving woman paying respect for one of history's most revered women.

An old fashioned school marm she ain't. It's a good act, but once you start looking at all the circumstances, it just doesn't float.

I googled her schedule. Earlier in the week she did have some fund-raising appearance. Have to say, tho, these high-profile pols don't do a great job of getting their appearance schedules out on the net for people like us to peruse, save, write about. We don't know what C*ndi's up to, either, tho I have to agree that it may well be re-education Kamp somewhere in the Undisclosed Location or a laboratory or something.

20. Laura Bush To Campaign For Conrad Burns in Montana
MT-SEN: Laura Bush To Campaign For Burns
By Greg Sargent
Aug 25, 2006

GOP Sen. Conrad Burns -- reeling from recent gaffes like his rebuke of firefighters and his joke about his immigrant house painter -- is hoping that Laura Bush can rescue him from the tough challenge he's facing from Dem Jon Tester. Burns just emailed out word that the First Lady is coming to Montana on Aug. 30th for "an ice cream social in support of my campaign." No ice cream jokes, Senator.

26. If she becomes too uppity, she'll get the Jack-Ruby-Special!
Jack Ruby received an injection of virulent cancer cells before the appeal against his murder conviction of Lee Harvey Oswald could be heard.

I think Laura will play along with whatever goes on in the 'House of Bush'.
