Where is the line or is there one? How do you evaluate your position, or don't you care?

2. I'm Sure You Are In Many Ways.
But the labels are quite irrelevant at the end of the day. When it comes right down to it, as long as you believe in tolerance, equal rights to any and all human beings of any race, religion or other characteristic, believe that health care should be regarded as a mandatory social service to the young, old and any inbetween, believe in respect, integrity and honesty and upholding the values of the constitution, believe in freedom of speech and that we all have a right to exist and prosper, believe that no one should be persecuted against and that racism, bias and prejudice are things that should never be practiced, and you believe that a life half a world away is as valuable as a life next door, while holding onto personal morals that dictate you will always offer a helping hand to those in need, you are more than on the right track regardless of what label you want to place on yourself. :)

5. I don't know if you are or if I am or not either
but I know I like your politics, I almost always agree with your thoughts and your positions, and you are one of my favorite peeps on DU! Whatever label you put on it, I think we are in the same boat ... together.

:loveya: sis, no matter what you call yourself!

6. A liberal is one who's not afraid to say so.
I'm a liberal. I'm proud of it. You can also call me a progressive, too. But liberal is easier to spell, easier to say and it cuts to the core of my principles.

12. Ditto.
Running away from labels is political cowardice, imho. The fascist right should not be allowed to hijack language.

which, in my mind, is basically the same thing

progressive is to liberal as
