Poll question: Hillary Rodham Clinton or Jonathan B. Tasini |
|
I'm holding my absentee ballot in my hand right now for the democratic primary for this contested senate race. I don't know Mr. Tasini at all.
Which of these 2 persons will best represent the future of the democratic party? why? Who is more progressive; who should i vote for?

1. You have got to be kidding. |
|
You are taking a poll at DU to determine for whom you'll vote?
My advice? Log off of DU, go read each candidate's campaign site, and read the news articles.
I thought I'd heard it all, but I believe this tops everything heretofore.
My god.

Some people sell their votes to their employers. Some people sell their votes to authorities they respect. Some people sell their votes to persons they love. I don't trust anything any of these persons can write down, as i'm a writer, and i know how much spin can be included in such testimony. I don't vote based on websites but a consensus to change the country.. and my consensus must agree with the persons here, that much i know for sure, the most respected americans i've met, those who fight the good fight for all the right reasons. Why shouldn't i ask? Surely i'm not the only voter voting in this election, that nobody can give an elevator pitch, suggests that these persons don't actually believe that discussing on the internet would assist their cause, that getting a DU login, and openly, as a campaign worker, saying why you believe the canddidate warrant's a vote, heart to heart.

I'd vote for him with the exceptation that Hillary will win at least 61% of the vote. I want Hillary to win; just she need be reminded how Democrats feel about Bush's lies and foolish policies. After Hillarys September surprise with Tasini's strong vote; we'd roll up our sleves for Hillary. A near vote 40% vote for Tasini send a real message/.

|
Do you agree that its really a punishment vote against hillary clinton for shifting rightwards, and nothing else? (as in he 'can't' win) or could he win?
Now that i've voted for him and read his website, i hope he wins.

12. has Hillary shifted rightward? |
|
I hear this constantly on DU - and yet she has one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate.
Since Tasani will be lucky to poll in double figures, it's hard to see what kind of "message" could be sent - other than - "I can ignore these people completely"....

13. Even if Tasani get 9.9 %; |
|

5. I'm not a big Hillary fan but I know nothing |

of Tasini. I'm not from New York so I'm not qualified to make a statement. The Connecticut situation was different in that I became informed of Lamont's views.

10. I really wish she wouldn't waffle on Iraq |
|
and recant her vote to authorize Chimp to do that.
I don't know, with LIEberman it was so much more than the "war". It was his willingness to undercut the message of the Democrats who spoke out. Does HRC undercut the message of the Democrats who speak out? Not from what I see. Plus she hasn't smooched Bush, which is a plus.
So I really don't know. I'm anti-war to the bone but would I vote for Tasini? I don't know.
I do have to give her credit for supporting Lamont now.
