So sayeth Rep Artur Davis (D-AL), when discussing the DCCC mistaken backing of Tim Dunn, the candidate that dropped out of the NC-8 primary, over Larry Kissell.

Well, that's a big ol' southern-fried DUH! I am appalled that more politicians don't understand this. THEY work for US, not the other way around.

If we are ever going to get our democracy back, this mantra must be hammered into politico skulls nationwide.

I don't know how, but it needs to be done.

2. Run on a specific platform of expanding democracy at home.

-voter-verified paper ballots

-Public financing for elections

-Move all elections to pre-existing national holidays (to counter the people who would whine about lost productivity)

-non-partisan redistricting

-create non-partisan state "elections masters" to stop partisan secretaries of state from screwing with voters

-automatic restoration of voting rights for people who have paid their debt to society

-statehood for D.C.

-a new voting system that doesn't penalize third-party voters.

Take these measures, and the faith of the people in the democratic process will be restored.
