Kenneth Blackwell reports embarrassing buy of Diebold stock
Ohio is reeling with a mixture of outrage and hilarity as Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell has revealed that he has owned stock in the Diebold voting machine company, to which Blackwell tried to award unbid contracts worth millions while allowing its operators to steal Ohio elections.

A top Republican election official also says a Diebold operative told him he made a $50,000 donation to Blackwell's "political interests."

No conflict of interest here, tee-hee...
How the heck are they able to pull this crap off??

From blackwell's blog

edit for more info:

Bush left the center to attend a fund-raiser for Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell at the nearby sprawling estate of Kirtland Hills businessman Ed Crawford.

About 650 people attended the event, which was closed to reporters.

Blackwell spokesman Carlo LoParo said the president’s visit raised $1.5 million for the campaign.

15. The Dems are complicit
there is a huge disconnect between the corporate owned democrats and democracy. Very similar to the corporate owned repukes.

Cathy Cox Democratic SoS for GA in 2002 is a prime example.

done in California...Created and supported by Rove/White House. Knowing the republicans can NEVER win in California fairly & legally...so they set out to get rid of the elected Dem Shelley, (scandal for hiring people in his family bullshit) Rove & the boys got newly elected republican Arnold(again, another WH financed scam via Enron) to appoint a republican to count our votes in CA....As Republican McPherson has allowed every conceivable Diebold machine into CA when Dem SoS refused to allow them in...So BushCo found a way to get rid of Dem Shelley.

elections in Ohio. The poor have a tough time paying the poll tax, and the brainwashed mobs of elites and gushing (soccer) moms would rather go to sports events: GO BUCKS! than worry their brains with such nonsensical issues as constitutional/civil rights. Persons here are not against supporting FAIR corporate business that actually improves communities and sponsors Johnny's football/soccer/baseball/hocket team and brand new stadium instead of draining them - as a band booster in another life, we tried to get some sponsorship, but the FAT CATS of what few corporations actually wanted to actually make our ethnicall changing BLUE city their business home could only find it necessary to sponsor their ethically pure RED suburban teams.

ENOUGH, ENOUGH, ENOUGH, ENOUGH, ENOUGH......"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" tHESE ARE DITTOS!!!!

...unique to Ohio. I think people all across the country immerse themselves in distraction (Johnny's athletic endeavors, or something else) as a means of coping or taking their attention off what's happening all around them, to them, to all of us. Meanwhile, BushCo's fascist regime just gets bolder and more oppressive by the day.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where we're headed...
