Listened to Randi Rhodes tonight. She had a caller, a smug RW pompous |

tool, who came right in with the RW/Gonzales talking point about "Isn't Gore a hypocrite to complain about the warrantless spying when Clinton did the same thing?"
Randi did a very good job, politely and succinctly dismantling this, explaining that the FISA law at the time (Aldrich Ames) did not address physical searches, and that the wiretapping of Ames that was done was consistent with FISA (warrants pursued and obtained). And that the warrantless search was subsequently challenged, and that Clinton requested the law address this which the 1995 change did.
The RWer had nothing to say except to tell Randi that she had certainly clarified the matter for him, LOL.
I have considered the possibility that this guy may have been a plant for the show, but he certainly had the pompous RW guy sound down...

He did capitulate quickly and quietly. I wondered if she had just turned his volume all the way down and then dumped him. Sometimes I get the impression that she does that.

2. i've had same argument... |
|
i explain that the ames case provoked the clintonians to exploit the loophole in the law, which the repuke congress then filled in 1995, and which clinton cheerfully signed.....now the repukes have the nerve to defend bush violation of the same law that was created by the repukes to harass clinton in 1st place! and they go one better by saying clinton broke a law which never even existed at that time, a law which bush openly brags about breaking; and clinton was dealing with an actual, later convicted, spy, while bush...(?)!! you do not argue with such people, you call them goofballs and denounce their mothers for wearing army boots etc.....
